I honestly feel like the solution to all of State's problems is that we have failed to bust out the Interlocking MSU unis. Why do we have to wait until the Kentucky game to do that and why don't we have the white away jerseys to go with the maroon ones? If the Kentucky game is the only game we win and play wearing the Interlocking MSU uniform, why will we have wasted an entire season wearing the ineffective script State?

Coming from a Tulane fan, let's hope he can do it. If he manages to go winless in the SEC, I don't really know if he will be retained or if it'll be a complete coaching staff overhaul. I was at the Kevin Fant '03 Jackie Sherril/Tulane fiasco. That was a good win for y'all, but man it still stings LOL!

I can see that, but this State defense is incredibly slow. I think that's a glaring part of the problem.

At least with Mike Wright back there you can have the opportunity to elude the sacks, but the offense can only do so much. I wish I had a solution for State's defense, but it's just been plain awful.

It was a home game at The Ray and Coach Boyles is on that sideline up there. The fact that Oak Grove was able to win that game by double digits is an accomplishment in my book. I also realize that view is not the majority take, but Coach Boyles wasn't supposed to make it easy on Oak Grove.

If Brandon wins it'll be because OG couldn't stop them defensively. Would that be more of the correct take there?

David this is a great take here. I’m happy that Hancock has made it this far without a blemish on their record, but my concern is how much of this Hancock team is real vs. how much of it is a stage prop. I’m not saying they can’t or won’t beat George County, but George County should have some intestinal fortitude that Hancock hasn’t quite yet seen. That’ll be the big question that gets resolved in this matchup

You got a point here. They’d probably be the typical Hancock lookin’ for their first win of the season. How much of that 7-0 record that they have is just an inflated balloon ? We will soon find out.

I agree. When you have they type of year that you had last year, you should be able to build off of that and at least maintain the bare minimum of wins you had. The freefall hasn't ended unfortunately.

I certainly don't think anyone is and I didn't mean to come across that way, but if y'all can get a couple of stops against Brandon there shouldn't be any glaring issues. All it takes is one point to win and in West Jones' case 2 LOL!

I kept the voting anonymous, but the cat that voted for Hancock let's hear your take on why you think Hancock will beat George County. Maybe you've got some insights into Hancock that we aren't aware of. There's not a right or wrong answer here, but if you think Hancock will beat George County go ahead and share those thoughts.

An argument may also be made that Hancock even struggled with West Harrison last Friday. They won by 16, so I reckon that was good enough but you let West Harrison hang 26 on you and you let them stay in the ballgame. Even though Hancock is 7-0 and they've beaten everyone they've played so far, I don't think the chickens have come home to roost just yet, but they could very well come home to roost Friday night.

I certainly wouldn't put any stock into this whatsoever, but the Calpreps Project A Matchup has Hancock beating George County 31-14 on a neutral field. I don't think the algorithm is taking into consideration the return of Deuce Knight and probably some other things. When Hancock played Florence (a team with a pulse), they struggled to get a win. I'd like to think that George County would create even more turbulence than Florence. How is Hancock going to react to that?

With a coach like Russell, you just have to sit back and watch. It’ll all happen in due time. I reckon what happened yesterday would be surprising if you don’t have any expectations set. Because you had an expectation set and that expectation was met, it didn’t come as a surprise to you.

This is what good coaching looks like. These type of wins don’t happen by accident. The game will reward you for doing things the right way and this is a prime example of that.
