Picayune won't need extra opportunities and takeaways to win this ballgame tomorrow night. Picayune just needs to play good, clean Maroon Tide football.

Take this as you will, but Calpreps has Picayune winning this one 34-14. I try not to put too much stock in a computer projection but that honestly sounds about right. Picayune would have to lay one massive Hal Holmes sized egg in order to lose this one. If Picayune keeps playing like they have been on the road, they won't lose this ballgame. Not saying George County won't be tough because I firmly believe they will be and I think George County will fight hard for 4 quarters. They've got a whole lot better team this year and you could see it coming together last year. Picayune should be locked in and focused for this game.

This game could also come down to special teams because the only place Hattiesburg struggled last week was on PAT's. They had one blocked, missed one wide, and they elected to chase points. PRC couldn't stop them from moving down the field and scoring, but they were able to stop them on the two point tries. I think Hattiesburg only had one successful two point try last week.

Sometimes the beauty of high school football is you have to throw all logic out the window. Hattiesburg definitely has a good offense and they can move the football, but then you get caught in the cat and mouse game. I kind of think the X-factor will be if Terry can neutralize Hattiesburg's offense. If they can't, then that's obviously a path to a Hattiesburg win.

If Terry's defense is good enough to stop West Jones, wouldn't it be good enough to stop Hattiesburg? I realize different opponents match up differently, but does that seem plausible though?

Especially if Terry gets some offense going. It might be an old fashioned slug fest.

You got a point there Dub and it very well could be close. You never know what happens when those coast teams square off and you get a mixed bag most of the time. It's pretty homogenized down there, so you definitely have a valid argument.

I don't think he's going to keel over. If you are referring to living as surviving, then yeah I don't think we'll see his funeral anytime soon. Now if you are referring to surviving in terms of employment, well then he may survive there too. It may just be somewhere in Alabama where he came from.

I will say this though Region 4 is pretty much shaking out like we all thought it would. What happens on Friday will pretty much all but determine the final seeding in Region 4 for the playoffs. Other things to keep an eye out for in a couple of weeks: Region 1: The South Panola - Grenada game Region 3: The West Jones - Hattiesburg game. In Region 2 as long as Warren Central holds serve, they’ll be the region 2 district champs.

Biloxi ain't had good football since Joe Sabbatini, and most of that tenure was the old Big 8 days. It's just not a priority for them.

When you set the thread up, you have to select poll. You put the title of your thread and put your initial comments just like you would as starting a regular thread like this one, but then after that you have to select poll. Once you do that, you have to create a title for your poll and then you can make it multiple choice and then list the teams in the selection boxes. It's a couple of steps involved, but once you do it a couple of times you get the hang of it.

It is and I think we’ve figured some things out in regards to not having #6 in the backfield. #4 & #5 have gotten better every week and when you throw a healthy #6 back into the fold it just makes the rushing attack even more potent. I also think our fullback has done a great job and there hasn’t been any falloff in that position as well. You know how much Calvin valued the fullback, so to have solid production out of the fullback just adds that other dynamic that makes the Maroon Tide offense so difficult to defend when it’s clicking on all 16 cylinders. That means it’s running like a Marmon or a Dusenberg.

To be honest, I wouldn’t expect him not to play. That’s not saying that he does, but following the timeline he should be ready to go I would think. I reckon it would depend on if he gets cleared to play.
