  1. just flip a coin between Meridian and Murrah and let winner move down to 6A. Problem solved.
  2. put them with the coast trio ( Stone, Vancleve,East Cent.)
  3. how do you break the tie between Meridian and Murrah?
  4. Laurel South Jones NE Jones Wayne Co Sumrall Purvis will all be 5A Dist 3
  5. The same thing that's happening in Laurel is also happening in Meridian, maybe only worse!
  6. I think it's just lazy to base classes solely on enrollment. You can't expect teams like Jackson city schools to be able to compete with Madison cent or Brandon as an example.
  7. I would prefer 32-32-32-48-48-50 24 is just too few teams in a class. Actually only 24 in a class is ridiculous!

    Petal.

Meridian has reverted back to exactly what they were before Boyles got there.
  9. Is Meridian the only school in class 7 that is losing population? It seems every other school in class 7 is in a growth area like Memphis suburbs, major college town, Jackson suburbs, coast, Tupelo.
  10. Mississippi needs to drop down to 5 classes and a committee needs to place teams by class and district by combination of size, location and traditional ability to compete. If you do this it will solve both the travel issues and competition issues. And should eliminate any school feeling the need to play independent.
  11. Well Oak Grove was holding on almost every down.
  12. Meridian has a few athletes but the coaching staff is abysmal. It's such a shame Boyles only stayed 1 year.
  13. The only way you put those 4 in MSHAA is in 7A. Smaller Public schools can no longer out athlete those schools anymore because they recruit good black players now. Teams like Taylorsville will never again be able to compete with those teams . As a matter of fact, in the future years, I see even a lot of class 7A having trouble competing with them. I could see a division like Prep, JA, MRA, Hartfield, Madison Central, Germantown.
  14. If Prep, JA, MRA & Hartfield did move to MHSAA, they should be forced to play 7A. And the Jackson public schools should all be allowed to drop down a class for competitive reasons. Then you may not have any wanting to go independent.
  15. The only areas of North Miss. that are growing is just south of Memphis, around Tupelo and around Oxford.
  16. I blame this behavior on the type culture these players grow up in in their communities.
  17. Private school football is turning into what current college football has devolved into. Thanks to schools like Hartfield. It's really not fair for them to compete in any class other than one where all teams buy players.
  18. The fact that Marcus Boyles got them in the playoffs last year & beat top seed Ocean Springs on the road is even more proof to me that he is one of the beast coaches in this state, in the past couple of decades.
  19. I hate to say it but Meridian is turning into a basketball school like the Jackson city schools.
  20. lost tonight 22-6 to Quitman at home. They are as bad as they were before Boyles got there last year.
  21. Meridian loses the only two things it had going for it. Marcus Boyles and Daniel Hill. How in the world are they gonna win 6 or more games?
  22. I'm old school and think fields should be green but i understand if the players like it. Plus I'm still pissed Boyles bolted after one season.
