That is shocking that West Jones offense could not score on Terry.
-
That number 5 for Prep plays hard. You could tell he had a motor that didn't stop. Played both ways too.
-
Prep offensive line could not handle West defensive line. The prep QB had very limited time to get a pass off.
-
you hit the nail on the head with that last statement.

Why do we solely base classes on enrollment ? Why not take competitive balance into account like other States do. Some bigger schools have less emphasis on football than some smaller schools and some schools have more access to athletic students than other schools. By going back to 6 classes and combining enrollment with geography and competitiveness you should be able to come up with much better districts.

I'm extremely disappointed in Meridian. I had expected more from a Marcus Boyles coached team. It's a shame they are squandering Daniel Hill's senior year. I can't imagine how bad they are gonna be next year when Hill is gone.

Those things can easily be updated if they were to host playoff games. Plus the areas of the State where most of the participants are from are the northeast area (Oxford, Tupelo down to Noxubee) from the north and the Jackson metro area and the pine belt in the south. All of these are fairly easy drives to Meridian either down hwy 45 or up I59 or east on I20. Total team mileage is probably less to Meridian than anywhere else in the State.

I'd love to see the 7 championship games split up and maybe play the bottom 3 at a site like Meridian High, because each side is an equal 7,000 capacity. Plus Meridian is in the middle part of the State. Most high school stadiums have a large home side but much smaller visitor side. At Meridian each team would have an equal side.

yes I went. the final was 42=21. Meridian kinda gave up in the 4th Q. The Meridian DBs could not stay with the Starkville receivers and the Starkville QB was a very good passer.
-
Apparently, Starkville scored two more times after the game went final
-
you got Madison Central playing both Germantown and Gulfport
-
finally some school officials with some sense. Moving the starts to 7 pm in the middle of a heat wave was just plain dumb.

I thought Wayne Co is playing at Oak Grove on Thursday night. Also, why are some games being shown as 7:30. I thought all games were moved to 7pm?

New Heat rules by MHSAA affecting practices?

Baseball is a summer sport, football is a fall sport. Baseball players are not in a full uniform with pads and helmet running and hitting . Baseball is a lot of standing around. -

The regular season should start labor day weekend and championship games should be mid December -

There's also no reason the Ms-Al game and the north-south all str games can't be played the same weekend, just at different times or days. could play one fri night and one sat -

I've been to numerous games than started at 7pm and seen the visiting band not even be to the stadium by kick off. -

Instead of moving game times up to 7pm they should have pushed them back to 8pm for games in Aug. and first half of Sept. -
USM is obviously the best choice in the State 1) stadium is perfect size, not too big or small, excellent site lines as stands as close to the field and pitched pretty steep. 2) Turf is perfect for any bad weather. 3) Plenty of Hotels and restaurants near the stadium. 4) Hattiesburg is between to the two largest population centers in the State, Jackson & the Coast with excellent highways in all directions. 5) and the pine belt area around Hattiesburg is an absolute hot bed of High School football.

How ridiculous to only have 4 conference games. As I've said before, there really are no longer any State champions, just the best of 23 other teams.
