Some certain fans keeping out of the football program's business would help them keep coaches as well.

Most of the GCS fans on that facebook group are lacking a lot of brain cells. The vast majority of them never gave a crap about that school before this year and likely have still never sat foot on campus. After this season that school may not have enough players to field a team again. If the other private schools in the state start throwing out free tuition to lure players over what would happen. What if Laurel Christian School started up football, played on the Jones Junior College Campus, and recruited who they wanted from West Jones, Laurel, Northeast Jones, and South Jones. Go get some from Bay Springs, Stringer, Taylorsville, and Collins while they are at it. Half of West Jones coaching staff is at or a year or two from being able to retire. So take them all to coach the new team. Lets see what happens.

And I have seen some home cooking over in Waynesboro as well. I'm sure picayune fans remember 2006 fairly well. For that matter, can throw Laurel into that conversation. And any time a pine belt school is down playing on the coast.

Till his son graduates. He is in 8th grade now I think. He wants to coach him till he graduates then I expect Breland will retire as he has his time in.

Brookhaven is huge. Some large kids. But seems like their strength and conditioning is a bit lacking.

Yeah. There is a lot of ya-ya going on with their fans about that. Apparently these kids left school to go to the barber to get their hair cut. Something they do every Friday when their classes are over and return before the football team meets up to leave for away games or have pre-game meetings or whatever. And for some reason or another the coach benched them because they missed something. Can't get a straight answer on it. Doubt I will either. They are making it out to be political. Regardless. If Laurel can manage to beat them next week, then Wayne County, may end some of their trash talking for this season.

NEJ had no less than 15 yards of penalties on every quitman offensive scoring drive. With 30 on one and 40 on another. 30 yards on one play near the end.

Quitman had a lot of officiating help in that one.

Since Halftime of the first game of the season against Madison Central. West Jones defense has allowed 6 points. Those to Madison Central. West Jones had Northeast Jones 28-0 at the half (also the final). NEJ had 1 first down. 2nd half played with constant running clock. And WJ's 10th grade backup center snapped 2 balls over the backup 10th grade QB's head, one into endzone, that resulted in the safety NEJ scored that game. NEJ ended I think with 6 first downs. Wingfield I think had 1 first down for the game. 38-0 score Brookhaven had 4 first downs. 1 in the first half. Was down 23-0 to end the first Q. WJ was rotating backups mid way through the 2nd Q. Final was 26-0. Natchez had 2 in the first half. Down 35-0 at the half. 2nd half played with running clock and WJ running every play. Natchez had 5 or 6 first downs for the game. Final 41-0 And WJ still has tune-ups against South Jones and Florence coming.

This division will come down to west jones and Wayne county. Everyone else fighting for other 2 spots. Laurel has leg up due to talent but can they get it together? Hattiesburg May have seen their season burn with that qb injury. Brookhaven dark horse. Natchez defense sucks. Offensive line sucks.

Final 41-0 west jones. west jones defense has not allowed a score since week 1. Also havnt really played anyone. And I don’t see the next 2 opponents scoring either.

Laurel has only played 2 games before tonight. They are not in game shape. They barely beat a mendenhall team that frankly is not that good like some made them out to be. Then beat a bad Alabama 6A team by 1 in Laurel. they turned the ball over 7 times. Had blocked punt returned and a fumble returned.

Natchez is not a good team (go look at their schedule and who they beat and the scores) and west has maybe the best coaching staff in the district. I think they know how to stop him if not at least hold natchez to less than 24. And Natchez defense is bad. No way they hold west below 30. West would have to screw themselves up and turn the ball over a bunch. I look for west to line up and run it down natchez throat while keeping natchez offense off the field. West will be subbing in backups by the 4th. And Natchez may get a score or two there to make it look closer.

Natchez offense and defensive lines suck. Their only chance is the qb throwing the ball up and that wr running to it. His speed is their only weapon. That qb may not have the time to throw the ball up vs WJ.

Every one of those games could be huge blowouts. Laurel/Brookhaven may be the closest.
