  1. Anybody know how the game schedule will change next year when 7 games are played? right now it is 3 games fri and 3 sat so thats obviously going to change.
  2. wanted to add a couple things: #1 for wp played a great game (again), 2nd all told, refs did a nice job , and 3rd there was a lot of good sportsmanship exhibited between the players out on the field. over all a great game to watch at the Rock.
  3. this was impressive. i am sure our team fed off that support. well done Picayune fans and supporters. ive been to golden eagle football games with a lot fewer fans.
  4. Thanks, for joining us and for the kind words, Slick. it was a special night at the rock and you drove a long way to share it with us. Some of the best things about these games is the friendships that form around them…and braving that Hardy Street traffic was going above and beyond. perfectly good traffic lights defeated by 1000 drivers stopped on green to text about the horrible traffic smh.
  5. yes they should get huge fines for all the games people pay for that they dont deliver. there stupid sound tracks are bs. i tuned it to one game a couple weeks back and it was three hours from a parking lot camera aimed at the back corner of a stadium with no game in it
  6. won't happen next year. but if it does, i don't care...the outcome of non-district games is irrelevant. as long as we don't get injured and improve it is all i care about. besides west point was 0-2 last year and still gets to claim they were undefeated. we will just do that.
  7. and probably on QB and RB and being a senior.
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I am not really up on my info, but I thought they got 4 years. Maybe playing on varsity for less than half a year is not counted toward the eligibility? I am sure someone here will know.
  9. Maybe most of you guys have already seen this, but I was pretty impressed and thought I would share. Thompson, over in Alabaster, won the 7A football championship convincingly over Auburn. Them winning 7A is not a new thing, they are always good and this makes their 4th championship in a row. But the MVP of this game was their QB. He is an eighth grader. That's an amazing performance at that level for such a young kid. I think he has only been starting since the 1st game with Hoover (I think that was the game their starter was injured). They lost that game, but in the playoffs he lead them to a victory in the Hoover rematch that allowed them continue on the road to another championship. https://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/sports/high-school/2022/12/01/trent-seaborn-8th-grader-dominated-at-alabama-high-school-football-state/69691009007/
  10. i dont know if this is Brandons year or not, but after seeing that big ole lineman consoling Bray Hubbard after the game, i am rooting for them.
  11. haha and the only gold ball that matters says 2022 on it, sir.
  12. 1. we may be saying the same thing, Slick, but I would say it different. Picayunes defense is the key to this game imho. 2. we might not win but Picayune will not lose because of arrogance and chest thumping. i am not seeing that at all. we know who we are and what we have to do.
  13. how come wp fans always say this is not last year when they lost last year, and at the same time they wanna bring up gold balls from farther back in time as if that matters this year? just wondering.
  14. i wasn’t “down voting”. as the emoji says, i was saying “uh no”. as in i disagree. go watch the first gautier game. then watch the 2nd and see how they switched to a three man rush and were successful with it, dropped the backers and ended up with 4 picks from who i think is the best passing qb in ms. i do not believe just any coach and staff could devise that plan, coach the kids up on it in short time, and then execute it with all the chips on the line. i am a fan of what coach Lee did. if you tell me he could of won a title with this team i wont argue. he might. but thats conjecture. a lot of coaches would have lost with this team to laurel or west jones or gautier. cody won.
  15. i dont believe in comparing scores vs common opponents. games can be decided by personnel matchups, injury status, preparation, which team is peaking etc … every game is a new one. if prior games matter, then i can predict who will win any rematch. obviously the team who won the first game should win again if history plays a role. that said, unless you have watched both teams play more than a few games, common opponents is probably all we have.
  16. rain doesnt affect me. i will sit in the rain to watch football anytime. same fishing. Close lightning and im out though.
  17. i agree, but they got help in the first game from the refs. so I will take the rain if it gives us an advantage in the 2nd one. but you and i know fumbles happen in the rain and that can affect us as well. could also affect our passing. don't like to predict games. way to many variables. but i will say this: I kind of expect #12 to try and run more in this one. we will see.
  18. or cold for that matter, but it wont get that cold friday
