  2. Seminary has to be the most slept on team in 3A. They were the 2nd best 3A south team last season, and returned most of their talent. They should be better this year than last year.
  3. Wishing everyone traveling for jamborees safe travels and an injury free night for your athletes.
  4. I wonder how Puckett, Pelahatchie, and Pisgah fields fared last night in the wind. I know Puckett has already announced road games through September 15th for high school and Jr high.
  5. 240 schools total counting 14 non football schools. It will drop to 237 in a few years when North Tippah and Leflore County complete their consolidation plans. The legislature wants to close 35 schools or district offices.

  8. I've really enjoyed their podcast last year and so far this year. To me, I think they are pretty balanced in knowing all areas of the state. They also do a great job on the radio call every year for the championship games.
  9. none of those teams are actually in the north but that is just how it is
  10. Understandable. One of the guys on the podcast is the Warren Central radio announcer. And WC is in the North.
  11. Thanks for saying this so I don’t waste my time listening lol
  12. Seemed to me they obviously knew more about north teams than the south.
  13. Dam man. just dam. At least they stream yalls grandbabys game.Although I know both you would much rahter be there. Only thing I could add for JSun is nothing has come out about how they look; Pound has done a couple of interviews saying what they are doing. I'm anxious to see too.
  14. I figure you’ll see a lot of this coming shortly for the group of 5 conference members, they need funding to even try to keep up with NOL deals. I’m not sure the “blue bloods” will take this route anytime soon, sticking with field logos, jersey badges, and doners for now… IF one of the biggest programs (Ohio State, Alabama, etc) ever sells naming rights to a stadium and/or field, look out… it’s a race for money to buy players.
  15. Yesterday
  16. Didn't start a new tropic for this. Just gonna put it here. This is the foam cushion, what's left of it, that was 90 % installed for the new turf field at Northeast Jones. Microburst Severe thunderstorm last night. 1st game is on the road at South Jones. 2nd game vs. West Jones may have to be moved on 9/04, depending on how long this sets them back.
  17. That's funny since last year it wasn't announced until 8-18-25 and the new announcement was on the 17th of this year. No one really expects anything different at this point when dealing with the good old boy system of MHSAA.
  18. I'm not sure if this game necessarily favored Picayune last year either. Picayune generally plays better when they aren't favored or when they aren't projected to win. If the masses project Gulfport as the favorite, then I personally like the position Picayune is in. Also, last year's win against Gulfport wasn't a fluke either. Our kicker made a difference in that game and he's back. I'm just glad we sent out Milner Stadium last year with a win. Don't know if we'll ever get a chance to play there again.
  19. Agree sir. Until there's teeth put into the bite it will continue just like the sports practicing out of season now
  20. That was a fantastic broadcast for 7a-5a. I havent watched part 2 yet. But you can tell those guys really did some research.
  21. The guys at Varsity Voices (State Championships Radio Network) dropped their complete 2026 MHSAA football season preview across two episodes. Part 1 (7A, 6A & 5A + All-State/Key Players List): They kick things off with the big schools, breaking down 73 teams across 12 regions. They also reveal their All-State player roster. Part 2 (4A, 3A, 2A & 1A): The second episode wraps up the state covering all 154 small-school programs across 32 regions. Loads of parity here, with three of the four state title games in these classes decided by six points or less last year. Good breakdown if you’re looking to get caught up on every classification before kickoff.
  22. The name M.M. Roberts Stadium is officially no more as of tomorrow….. USM’s stadium will be known as Renasant Stadium moving forward (or at least until that sponsorship deal ends). Do we still call it the Rock? Or do we have to come up with a bank related nickname now?
  23. Gridiron reads they brought back 15 starters apparently.
  24. I thought Gulfport lost a lot from last year's team? This game should favor Picayune again
  25. I was told the 1st probation ended the day before.
