They have never beaten west jones in football. Ever. And this Wj team is mostly healthy. Not the team held together by duct tape that laurel got lucky to beat. Or the one starting the jv because the varsity was in the hospital vs Hattiesburg. This one is just limping a bit. They would have skull drug vancleave too. coastguy
Well EC was on their 4th string RB tonight if talking about injuries, not that it would've mattered. As for skull dragging Vancleave, wont find that out because both West Jones and Vancleave will be losing next week.

Vancleave has minimal chance of slowing down Gautier enough and I don’t see West Jones stopping picayune.
U Remember When
If Irving has a bad night throwing it could be a close game in Gautier. He has not had many bad nights. The schools are about 15 miles apart. Match up will be similar to the Hattiesburg game. Depends on who shows up. The issue will be can wests offense score 24+. WJ will have the best defense picayune has faced this year. Probably by a lot.
Dubaction
Should get a Picayune Gautier rematch. I’d love to see that again.

Merlin
Have we e er had a south state game between 2 teams in the coastal division in current 5A (since 2009 when 6A was added)? Have we ever had a region 3 1-seed lose to a region 4 4-seed ever in that same time frame? I know a region 3 4-seed has best s few region 4 1-seeds. Wayne county lost to PRC I believe twice as a 1 seed. Could be wrong on that. I know Brookhaven was a 4 seed and beat Pascagoula back in 2012 or 2013. coastfootballfanman
PRC and Pascagoula in 2012 South State Playoffs and I believe 2011 was Picayune and PRC for south state. Heir first of like 3 in a row. I had forgotten. 2010 Brookhaven was a 4 seed from region 3 and beat someone from region 4.

slicklizard
Gautier was a much more polished ad mature team than Wayne County tonight. We gave them our best shot and I can’t can’t complain about that. There will be plenty of time this off-season to talk about the wrongs. Gautier QB was just that much better. West Jones defense is healthy now and is the wildcard in all of this. Watch out. Hattiesburg what the hell ? Really ? I guess Vott will get “busy “ again and turn back into invisible man. Our region was an embarrassment tonight
