That’s correct.  I know you were never a fan of the classification expansion.  I honestly don’t think anybody with a head on their shoulders is a fan of it either.

Laurel fans should be.   Otherwise they are a 2-3 win team that assuming they made playoffs as a 4 seed they get knocked out in the first round at picayune.  And I could have enjoyed their meltdown that much sooner.  
 

And, unlike now where they still think they can win 5A south while sitting at 1-7, they would fully understand that they in fact suck.

You have a point Merlin.  They probably have been lulled into thinking everything is hunky dory by having a losing record, but like you said they have a false sense of security.  The Laurel flop fest has flopped off the cliff.

So WC makes the trip to Laurel Friday night it what should be billed as the battle of two lame duck coaches. This will be a penalty feast I promise you. I’m not sure which crew they have assigned to this game but it better be one that can keep things in control. You have two teams that are frustrated with a rich tradition in the past ( not so much lately). Don’t be surprised if you don’t see trouble on the field and in the stands if anyone goes. I can remember standing in line waiting for gates to open at five for WC games at home and on the road. Hell now you can get there at seven and sit wherever you like.

Not even hardly.  Unfortunately there’s a thing out there called reality.  Does Gautier have the inside track to get to the West Point Invitational?  If so, that’s fantastic for Gautier because that’s a new level to be reached that hasn’t been reached before.  Statistically speaking the odds are good for that to happen, especially if Gautier hosts all the way to South State.  What happens with Gautier once they get to South State and if they are able to advance, what happens after that?  It’s those unknown uncharted waters that should be of “High” concern.

He failed miserably with the best QB he will ever see there . If you are going to play soft defense you best have enough offensive plays to score the whole game and he doesn't

That Picayune team in 22 was about as stacked as any team in recent history though. Could throw a dart with your eyes closed at that team and you'd hit a D1 starter haha

That is true .I was at both games that season.

The first game Picayune made adjustments at halftime and stymied them in the second half. He tried nothing to counter it.

The second half they came in and did the same thing as the first all game. Nothing new had been added between games. That's losing football with that kind of player and why I think he just don't have it.

They haven't really gotten better the last few years . Teams like us and Laurel have fell way off. Hattiesburg and West Jones moved up in class. He's still the same . Someday soon WC, Laurel or both will get back on track and they will go back to being a second round loser.
