Brandon 31 Oak Grove 27 Final

Oak Grove kind of shot themselves in the foot their last two drives to try and take the lead. Brandon did look to get away with a facemask on a QB sack that resulted in 3rd and 15, but Oak Grove still would’ve had to drive about 65 yards.

We pretty much shot ourselves in the foot all night and most of the games this season.  How do you get 3 offsides in a row on extra points is beyond me.  We are and have been our own worst enemy this season. Not fun to watch your team implode week after week with the same old thing .

Jefferson County with a big win tonight over South Pike 20-8 giving South Pike their first loss of the season. Next week South Pike takes on undefeated Wesson while Jefferson County has a bye. If Wesson wins it’ll setup a winner take all for the region the last game of the season between Jefferson County/Wesson.

I haven't seen Jefferson Co. but Wesson is very fast and well coached.

Leake Academy wins a thriller against Lamar 35-34 ending Lamar’s 4 game win streak, putting them both now at 2-1 in the district and currently in a 3 way tie with Simpson. Leake takes on Simpson next week and with a win would win District 2 5A. If Simpson wins and Lamar beats East Rankin, Lamar will win the district.

Scott Central 39-6, South 2A Top 2 in each region is almost set.

Gonna have to wait until last week of the season to see who is the 2 and 3 seed in region 5 between Scott central and lake. Other than that I think most regions are close to being set. At least the top 2 seeds are.

If Pelahatchie qb can settle down and his receivers catch the ball they will be trouble for Loyd Star. I will not be surprised to see all 4 Region 6 schools in Round 2. Pelahatchie is simply going to run the run a shout with 4 wide until the qb over throws the receivers. Stringer #6 is a very talented kid at receiver. The qb just throws high and they have trouble catching.  But your defense will not be able to stop their receivers. Running it's Colier, 4 yards and cloud of dust.

Region 6 and region 7 top 2 seeds will advance. Saint Andrews and BC could be a decent game, but pelahatchie nor Puckett will beat Loyd Star.

Pelahatchie is helter shelter. They can out score you or score very little. They can stop you from scoring or just give up 60.

No, they can’t stop anybody. They have played a soft schedule and still the least they have given up is 22 points against stringer. They give up an average of 37 points per game. Loyd Star has a very good back who they will not stop.

If Loyd Star has that type rb then yea their going to have a long night. Pelahatchie is 90% run and shoot all night. Weak line.
