Mize never gave themselves a chance due to turnovers. Moved the ball up and down the field, but fumbled 3 times in scoring position. Once on the 2 yard line. Had 5 fumbles in total. We even picked up some turnovers ourselves, but then we would just turn it right back over to them. Probably had close to 400 yards of offense, but just couldn’t protect the ball.

Wesson had their way on the line of scrimmage on both sides of ball.  Mize busted a few dives but could not out run Wesson speed. QB from Wesson can spin it and Mize had no answer for it.  Wesson turned it over 4 times as well or they may have won by 30. Mize had no where near 400 yards offense. They didn’t score until mid fourth quarter. Game was dominated by Wesson but they still need to play better to compete in 3A south. They are definitely a better team than they were last year though.

Our fullback had 150 yards by himself. That’s not “busting” a few. We ran the ball up and down the field. We just put the ball on the ground. We fumbled on the 15, the 9, and the 2 yard line. Wesson did not “dominate” that game. Heck I wouldn’t be surprised if Mize even had more total yards than Wesson. If I had to guess I would say Wesson had a little more, but it will probably be pretty close at least. And I said that Wesson fumbled themselves, but only for us to immediately cough it right back up to them, and unfortunately we did it when we were about to score. We didn’t take advantage when given opportunities. Wesson did however. They turned our turnovers into a score. As for having their way on the line of scrimmage, I wouldn’t say that’s accurate either. I do think Wesson won the line of scrimmage, but we all kind of expected that because we lost two of our starters from last weeks game with Raleigh. We started a new center and guard last night, but still moved the ball. Just put the ball on the ground at the worst time possible.

They put the ball on the ground because Wesson DLine was in the backfield knocking heads loose. Nobody but the fullback had much of a game. The QB got rocked all night. I do think that Mize is a good team and will make a run in 2A. They just might be in the final four in the south come November. Good luck to them.

Again, that’s just incorrect. We fumbled 3 times on the QB/FB exchange. And the fumble Wesson turned into points was on the kickoff where our back just couldn’t handle the ball with nobody around him. Wesson actually only “forced” one fumble and that’s when our fullback broke a 40 yard run only to have the DB strip the ball away from him on the 15 yard line. Which was a great play by the DB. But we fumbled on the 9 yard line and 2 yard line on botched exchanges between the QB and FB.

None of that should take away from Wesson’s win. They played better than we did last night.
