MHSAA Jamboree Schedule

Getting closer each day to the regular season. This is the upcoming weeks jamboree schedule. Some I’d like to see are West Point/Brandon, Clarksdale/Grenada, Choctaw County/Louisville and Taylorsville/Scott Central.

Mize jamboree: 

 

Raleigh vs South Jones 

Mize vs NE Jones 

Taylorsville vs Scott Central 

 

and those times for the Mize jamboree are off. First game is at 5 pm not 6.

@Vottgot any thoughts about the Hattiesburg @ Meridian jamboree game?  Should be a good one to see.  Hopefully that turf won't be as bad in person.

no thoughts at all. Just hope everyone stays healthy. If HHS wins by 35 or loses by 35 vs meridian, my expectations of the upcoming season wont change.

I'm just surprised that it's not a regular season game for y'all.  That Hattiesburg-Meridian game is an old rivalry game.  The only decade y'all didn't face off was in the 1960s, but ya'll have faced off in every decade from the 1920s till now.

From the highlights I saw, Caleb Cunningham showed why he’s a five star WR. Very impressed with Louisville’s group of WR’s. They’ve got length and speed. Choctaw County’s Jeremiah Miller at RB should be getting plenty more looks from D1 schools this upcoming year.

Also, Choctaw County looks pretty big upfront. Especially for a 3A school.

Winona, Choctaw County will be very dangerous in 3A north this year outside of that it a big gap

Unfortunately the 7 classes has watered down almost every classification in the north to where there’s one or two teams then a nice size gap after that.

I'm not sure region 1-4A is watered down in football this year.   How much difference will there be tween Shannon. IAHS, Amory and Ripley?

On paper this is the year Shannon should win that region with what they have returning and what the others lost. However during his time at Calhoun City, I’ve learned you can’t overlook a Perry Liles coached team so Ripley might still contend.

Ripley might struggle this year, yea Shannon returning a lot of players they should win Reg 1-4A and got a lot of Sr this year

It was really 6-0. Official said the HHS RB knee was down on the 1yd line but he was clearly in. And it was on 4th down so Meridian took over at the 1yd line. Next play HHS defense tackled the Meridian RB in the end zone.

There's not really a whole lot you are going to learn from a Jamboree (maybe some initial looks), plus y'all were playing Hattiesburg.  Not exactly a cupcake.
