Well I have remained silent because at this point, I do not know what to trust, or who to believe. However, I was told by someone connected to executive committee that vote is happening in April to start reclass for 2022 season and move to 7 classifications starting this 2022 season. Was also told it is 90% positive to pass with most everyone on board. Again, at this point, I do not know what to think or believe to be true. So I plan to just wait a few more weeks and see what happens.

Just cant see this happening in 2022. Way too hard to schedule non region games 4 months before the season begins.

I agree I do not see it happening in 2022, but I 1,000% disagree on how hard scheduling will be. I know Kat French at Biloxi has 5 non-region games tentatively ready to be scheduled right now if they announced it today. Scheduling games would be the least logistical issue of this whole thing. I promise 90% of the coaches in this state right now have multiple games already in the works to happen if it passes.

Scheduling games is not hard to do unless picking up a phone and dialing it or sending an email is too burdensome.

Picking up the phone to schedule a game isnt all that simple.  Lets say Picayune needs a non region game. They are going to be loaded next season. Picayune coach contacts ABC High School asks would he like to play them. ABC coach says no because he doesnt want to get a beatdown put on him.  Then you have to make another phone call to try and find a game. Lets be honest, for teams who are very good, non region games can be hard to schedule.

I enjoyed scheduling a lot. Did for all the teams. It isn't hard.

Now some folks are lazy and it's a task for them. But if you're good you usually don't want to schedule a non-competitive game so those kinds of conversations that you propose actually rarely occur.

That is my point. It is only difficult if you are lazy. Good teams will not have a problem filling their schedule. It is not rocket science. Yeah sure, a 2-8 Hancock probably would not schedule Picayune, but Gulfport, d'Iberville, Poplarville, etc. will. Filling the schedules I promise will be the least difficult part of doing reclassification now. My brother was an AD in Louisiana for almost 20 years. He said scheduling for any sport was not difficult at all.

It will happen in 22. In October the numbers will be turned in, schools will be placed in classifications and regions, and it will be released around the State Championships like always. Play will begin in fall  of 23.

I disagree. For that matter.. schools have been scrambling at the last minute to schedule games the last two years because of Covid. 4 months is nothing.

Say it a lil louder for those in the back

People have no idea how easily these deals for games are made

TKE

MISSHSAA and MDE has a list of all phine numbers at District Office and principals. The call can be made messages over the intercom, etc etc. Whether you want to call back or schedule that opponent remains to be seen. The biggest problem maybe the date, location, etc. Whose hosting first, August or September trying to avoid 3 straight road games of course.

I don't think it's very difficult for teams like Long Beach to schedule games. I think it's more difficult for good teams like Picayune, Oak Grove, JDC, West Jones, Taylorsville and so on because not many coaches willing to voluntarily go take a whoopin.

Taylorsville is not in that category anymore.

Thank You !! When I was MPHS soccer HC I received calls as soon as season was over for the next season and we had a schedule in place fairly quickly - it's not that difficult

They have won 3 State Championships in 5 years and made 4 appearances in that time. I think if I'm a 1A-3A team, I might look elsewhere before picking up a game with them.

Also, I've heard they are getting one heck of a football coach as an OC. I expect to see them back on top quickly.
