Stadium Improvements

To build on the Meridian blue turf thread I thought about starting one for all schools. I got the idea from seeing Choctaw County’s new stomping grounds. They did big things this off-season. Very impressive for a 3A school. Feel free to add any changes your school has made this summer.

Thought I'd bump this thread up from last year.  If anybody's got some pictures of some stadium improvements for this year, please feel free to post them.

PRC is supposed to be turfing Hendrix Stadium, but they haven't started putting lipstick on that pig yet.  Hopefully they'll have that sardine can ready come August.  If I can get some pictures of it once it's done I'll try to post them.

Booneville has a new stadium.

That looks real nice.  Take away the bleacher size and it's waaay better than many larger classification facilities.

I saw in the comments of it that they’re suppose to increase the bleacher size because Booneville always has a good sized crowd.

With the way it's built, it's an easy thing to do.   They really thought ahead with this build.

I think someone investigates the stadiums. As far as I know there must be 10 ft from sideline/end zone to fence. That's why Brandon built their new stadium. It costs less to build a new stadium than make those repairs.

Mississippi high schools definitely have some impressive stadiums/facilities without a doubt.

I was under impression this was for football practice and soccer. That football games would still be played at NE. Probably why the bleachers are so small.

Hopefully it will drain if done right. Otherwise water will get into some cleats. Gone a pay for some water if they sod it.

They are doing away with the grass and turfing it, but it’s like the old saying,  “You can spend $100 one time or you can spend $50 four times.”  It just seems like they are choosing the latter.  PRC has always had a track team, but they’ve never had a track.  They could have killed at least 3 birds with one stone had they went the route as Senatobia above.  Yes that would have required them to relocate their stadium, but frankly they need to.  They have outgrown that campus tremendously and there’s a place where they can put a new stadium, but they seem too afraid to approach that.  It’s like they’ve settled up there.

They have a super nice place to play. Turf, LEDs, video board. Only drawbacks, there’s not much can be done about because they’re landlocked. Tiny stands, & too little sideline room.

If so, there are several places those investigators haven’t visited.

There are tons of schools whose stadiums in Mississippi do not meet that 10 foot guideline you are suggesting
