Why not. It’s a bigger school, more money and he would be back home. I know a lot of people didn’t think he would leave Stone for Moss Point but you never know

Those are valid points and from what I heard, MP has lost its starting quarterback from last year and a starting lineman to transfer. Talent pool is drying up from what I hear. May be a better situation for him.

Moss Point is only about 25 students above the 3A level so kids are definitely leaving

It's really not that surprising.  Coming home and having Dodd as an assistant on your staff without you having to do anything is probably plenty enough to push the deal over the top.

Dodd won't be an assistant on the staff. To my knowledge he was only around for the spring. In the fall he wants to be freed up on Fridays for personal reasons.

Well I knew he wasn't going to be on the sidelines on Friday nights, so what you're saying is he won't be there at all, even during the week.  Is that correct?

I take it that you really hate PRC.

I don't necessarily think he's saying that or thinks that.  He's just saying that finding a coach at the level of Feaster who would want the PRC job is going to be few and far between.  It's going to be a tough row to hoe for any coach, but to be able to land a coach of Feaster's caliber at PRC is definitely going to score some runs.  You should be able to tell an immediate difference in year one with him.

Edit to clarify:   When I say runs, I mean you'll probably be able to see some double digit crooked numbers in a quarter of play.  Don't know when or who they'll be against, but it'll be a change of pace for sure.

Hearing Feaster but could be wrong. Supposedly he’s the next AD and HC. Moss Point isn’t what they used to be, heard they only have about 25 players on the team.

Not gonna hijack the thread, but to read that moss point has only about 25 players out and are almost a 3a school is truly sad. Hard to believe that they were the top football school in the state at one time

That was exactly the thought process behind my comment. It is a tough job and one that will be hard to draw a hot topic name, but getting a guy like Feaster would be as close to home run as you could get in their situation.

It is official. Feaster will be HFC/AD. I imagine he will be brining his OC with him as well who is a PRC alum. Feaster will also be bringing his son with him who is a pretty good player from what I am told. Big loss for Moss Point. They continue on a downward spiral. Huge deal for PRC. They have a great motivator at the helm. Hopefully they can start to improve and really compete.

It’s sad seeing Moss Point on a downward trajectory. I remember watching them in the mid to late 90’s . They ran out some really really good teams .

Was it just PRC and Stanislaus in the Spring? What was the score?

It was held at USM. I wasn’t able to make it but was told the Varsity played 2 quarters and PRC  won 12 to 8 and the JV played 1 quarter and PRC won 8 to 0. Like I said I wasn’t there but that was the report I got from someone that was there

I saw on the Moss Point thread that said feaster is bringing his OC with him that is a PRC alum. Crazy that a school that’s not historically successful has so many alumni coaching.

Mancuso at JDC

Coach Beech at Poplarville

Seth Smith at the River and his DC Ty trahan

also, the DC and Dline coach at picayune are from PRC too

Welcome to the board.  Also don’t forget about Jeff Stockstill.
