RebelYell
Who is in the running for this job? Not sure it is a great job since there is still a lot of talk of merging into Simpson County. This use to be a top notch job. Just surprised no names are coming out of Simpson County.

I've heard that a certain retired coach is trying to go back to Magee for a second go at it.
TheAnswer
Probably Teddy since he got let go.

That would workout if/when consolidation happens. He would just go back to retirement and Simpson county wouldn't have any conflicts for the new head job of simpson county consolidated high school
RebelYell
Someone called me last night and said Nick Griffin, Teddy Dyse, John Ladner, and a guy up north mississippi have all put in for the job.

An acting HC from the North part of the state? I also guess I don't know the name John Ladner. Teddy is a no brainer in my opinion. Those two have a lot of connections to the admins at Magee

Chunky6617
I don’t think teddy dyess has put in for the job. It’s another former coach that applied, but I don’t think he made the final cut. I think they are down to their final 2 or 3 candidates.

Yeah this was his 1st year to be there. I was not impressed with his program at all. If you ask people in the community they were not upset about wins and loses because the last 2 guys really didn't win. They were more concerned about the character issues. The last two guys might not have really won games, but they did win at building boys into great young men. Those guys didn't seem to have any character issues on their teams with basically that same players. That speaks volumes about those last two guys and their coaching staffs. At the end of the day, how a coach mentors and grows the players is what matters the most.

Character starts with the leadership and seemed to be suspect in that department. Heard some interesting stories about that staff but don't really know what was true
