Columbia would never hire Russum. He has burnt to many bridges there and they are glad to see him exit.

Here is what I'm hearing that Larry Dolan will be the next Coach at Greene County. He is going to have to replace the OL coach and DC. Im hearing that Brett Nelson will be the OL coach he is a George County product is what I was told. I hear the DC will be a big surprise because the guy I talked to didn't want to tell me who that would be he said it was a big name.

Not sure but I believed he called the plays at Perry Central when he was there.

Alex Davis is the current OC why not just promote him to the HC and keep the same Offense he has been running.

I heard it was offered to Bass first then he turned it down then they offered it to Russum who then turned it down. Must be something there for two guys to turn it down.

I did not realize Nick Griffin was 7-14 as a head coach. He must have been a jam up OC at. Madison Central for them to put him on this list.

Nick Griffin not sure he qualifies for this topic he is a Head Coach, The topic is top assistant coaches. 85South must be Nick Griffin giving himself a shoutout.

I bumped into Lumberton's Head Coach this past weekend. He was real positive about Lumberton this year. He did say that Taylorsville is the team to beat but feels like that Lumberton could possibly compete for the South.

Unless you talked to Russum or you are Bo Russum I will trust my guy why would he throw a guys name out there if it wasn't true.

Just got off the phone with the guy who told me this and he said that he can confirm that Bo Russum put in for the job. Now rather or not he is being considered as a top canidate is to be seen.

Is the guy on staff Coach Hood that people are saying has a shot at the job? Wasn't he at Perry Central Last year?

You are correct he does have multiple rings. I not sure Taylorsville would benifit from a coach that is retired. Coach profession needs new blood.

I heard they are getting close to hiring for this position. Top 3 Canidates are Teddy Dyses, Bo Russum and Gabe Hood. Not sure who the last two guys are but the first guy wouldn't be in my top 3 by any means.

Yeah this was his 1st year to be there. I was not impressed with his program at all. If you ask people in the community they were not upset about wins and loses because the last 2 guys really didn't win. They were more concerned about the character issues.

What Kind of connections does Nick and Teddy have with administration at Magee?

Someone called me last night and said Nick Griffin, Teddy Dyse, John Ladner, and a guy up north mississippi have all put in for the job.

Who is in the running for this job? Not sure it is a great job since there is still a lot of talk of merging into Simpson County. This use to be a top notch job. Just surprised no names are coming out of Simpson County.

So your telling me That Nick Griffin is leaving Perry County where he has established himself as a Head Coach. I could see Jenkins but not Nick, Perry County is home to him. Honestly after the debacle year he had at Perry Central I couldn't see him getting a job like Magee.

Was wondering what yall's thoughts were on if any team underperformed this year. From the Pine Belt I believe Petal would be a team after beating Hattiesburg in game one people thought would be in the mix. Not sure what all happened but I know Petal people felt they were ready to make the playoffs. North Forrest is team that started out hot but cooled off real quick. After they demolished Lumberton people were really talking them up. I do know they have gotten better but eventually they have to get over that threshold. Purvis started out fairly well, they beat Forrest County and played Lawrence County well but didn't even make the playoffs with good QB and a RB that rushed for over 1600 yards. Perry Central only won 3 games this year after having 16 starters returning from a 4-6 team. Perry County surely had expectations of a lot better season then what they had.

Dude okay West Marion is the best team I've ever seen. Surely they will be playing for it in 3A. Is that better, not sure you can justify getting beat by east marion, and then turning around and losing to Columbia 100-0 a good team. I would agree they are better than PC and Should finish 2nd in the district. If they are as young as you say then they will be fine next year and actually be a good team.

Honestly I still don't believe West Marion is worth a crap. I just think they stink a little less then PC. I would say that the Woodrow guy from West Marion coached circles around Coach Griffin. Because Perry Central has way more talent than West marion. PC jumped up on West Marion 2 scores and you could look over there and notice that the West Marion team wasn't panicking at all. They stayed calm and gradually chipped away at the lead.
