We have big kids coming but not this season. But these guys have heart. George County usually has some big kids. I hear they are very good at the skilled positions. And now that the game is at WC, I just think that WC could pull this off. Since WC is all freshmen and sophomores like HHS, are they fielding a JV team? slicklizard Posted September 17, 2021 Share Posted September 17, 2021 They are . They had somewhere around fifty freshman come out in the spring I know they just beat Meridian. The QB is also the backup on Fridays, He can only play JV for a quarter or so because he has to be available to play varsity. Everyone is already raving about him, I will say this and I don't make boasts like this lightly . If you are going to get us it better be this season. There are some quality players in middle school now that will be coming in with another year of growth for the current team. We finally have a coach that can do it. I as optimistic as I have been in years. George County has a QB that transferred in from Mobile and some good skill players so this game will be a challenge for sure. That's hard for me to wrap my head around. For the last 20 years, WC has always been bigger than West Jones. Of course the bigger team doesn't always win though. We play with the poise of a veteran team. Jack the sheriff Hankins has these young pups believing in him. Man our little running back from Buckatunna is going to be special. Kid was like a jet when they got him the ball but our defense swarmed him to get him down, You could see the strategy tonight was to get in the QBs face every play.
