Hmmm, potential good news for Ole Miss. It SHOULD help Ole Miss, certainly can't hurt.

I can't seem to get the link where it clicks, just copy and paste if you want to read the article.

In short, 2 bullpen pitches suspended. They both have been strong contributors out of the pen.

Good start by OM.  If that’s Arizona’s ace, then this series will be over tomorrow.

Diamond wasn't exactly sharp in the first inning either.

3-1 Rebs after 1.

Arkansas 21-2 using 3 pitchers. NC State used 7 pitchers.

I wonder what in the world the two did to get suspended.  For the whole super regional.  SMH

No idea, but it appears it doesn't matter in the SR tonight.

Ole Miss has 1 walk and 0 hits vs the Arizona bullpen in 3.1 innings.

Still 5-3 Arizona headed to the bottom of the 8th.

Arizona was impressive. They can really swing it up and down the lineup. Bullpen was better than expected as well.

FYI, Arizona didn’t throw their best guy tonight either. He’s likely not as good as Nikhazy but he’s a tough lefty. Not sure tomorrow is a slam dunk for OM even with Nikhazy throwing, but that team does seem to play with a lot of confidence when Doug is on the mound. Should be a really interesting game.

This is the biggest problem for OM. We do not swing it well throughout the lineup. Not at all. Dang near automatic outs can be found and that is an absolute killer.

A couple of thoughts about ND. Because of a bunch of wx cx’s they have only played 44 games (about 15 fewer or 25% less than just about anybody else. Is that good or bad or no difference at all?

Second, everybody talks about the crowd and DNF being an intimidating place to play but how do you all think the weather may affect ND, particularly their pitchers?
Today is going to be hot and humid. If we are able to extend at bats and get their pitch counts up it may work to our advantage. The heat is tough on pitchers this time of the year particularly in the middle of the day.

Thoughts?

Obviously we will see how it plays out today , tomorrow and possibly Monday.

I just want us to come out serious and understand the task at hand. I think the crowd and heat will definitely have an impact, but ND can rake and Im not sold on our pitching save about 4 guys. We can't pitch Landon Sims every time and MacLeod on today and off tomorrow.

I believe we will be ready. Our guys have been through the ups and downs within a game. ND can rake but our pitching has been mostly solid all year with just a handful of bad overall games.
McLeod is inconsistent but I think he will pitch well. Some of the other bullpen guys are capable as well if we need them.

Throw strikes, minimize the BB’s, play solid defense and take advantage of our opportunities on offense and we will be fine.

Solo HR’s won’t beat you but three run HR’s will. Our philosophy last weekend was great. Just throw strikes. If they bomb out, all well and good if it is a solo shot.
