Totally new administration New Superintendent, New assistant superintendent, New Athletic Director, New Principals, New Coaching Staff

Being able to hit that reset button for Wayne County is probably a good thing.  Glad y’all were able to get Kat in the boat.

It needed it .The old ones just wanted to make sure all the facilities were locked up and rush home to buttermilk with corn bread .

As the season got closer Marcus and them boys would be up there late .

Since Pound got hired there has been a lot raised by the revived booster club.

Still bout to get beat down by west jones.

It will probably be a charged atmosphere, Pound coming into his fourth game as a HC against a legend like Pearson will be damn near impossible to pull off. I hope it's entertaining at least. Weird stuff usually happens and there will be  a couple of times where both sides get pissed off

On the new turf too.  Gonna have to see pictures of it when it’s done.

It looks horrible, A little more black paint and it's a dam bristled up buzzard bowing up over a dead possum. Hathorne should be forced to put the image of it on the hood of every vehicle he has. When it comes off of our field he can have a car without it

I know about the Wayne County turf and I can't disagree with your sentiment on it.  I was referring to the new West Jones turf.  I'm hoping it doesn't look as mustardy as the initial renderings.

That was pc/ai rendered.  It’s supposed to look basically exactly like poplarville with different center logo and words.  Maybe a bit more gold along the sidelines

Don’t think so.  I know WJ will finish last of the 3 jones county schools. South jones field was ripped up down to dirt and they were starting to put in gravel the week school let out for the summer.  NEJ was down to dirt that week and they had just started to tear up west. SJ opens at home week 1 vs nej.  Nej hosts WJ week 2 for its first home game.  WJ first home game week 4 I think, maybe week 3, vs SJ.

Is the school going away from the Interlocking WC? Noticing that with more of the social media and the new turf.

I don’t think so I believe that’s just something different for social media and media in general. Lampley wore that WC on his helmet he knows it’s tradition and he’s working hard to bring back tradition. The turf was all done by the old administration and who knows what they had in mind doing. That interlocking WC is part of this community it would be a huge mistake. I remember a couple of years ago Coach Hankins had the guys in plain white helmets no decals. He told them that they had to earn them. Really a great old school approach but man the people around got upset lol.

Gotcha. I agree that it would be a huge mistake. I doubt Lampley will make that change. Probably one of the most recognizable logos in the state. I know it has Auburn ties but WC also makes it look really good.  I will say the new turf doesn’t look as good without the checkered end zones but i guess it’s time for a change.  When I’m in town visiting family it still doesn’t seem right having the home side on the old 84 side of the field.  Are there any other projects with the stadium you know of?
