What will be the format for that scrimmage next week?  Will they only play a half and what time will it start?
Will Mike Ezell have another roadblock set up when the scrimmage is over like he did after the game that Hankins gagged away like a sick dog.

Since its 2 new head coaches for both teams, i would think both would want it played like a regular season game to get used to subbing players in and out and clock management.

Yeah not a bad drive at all about 90 minutes all four lane. You told me about that Chevron a few years back I don’t eat fish but my wife loves it and she loves theirs. I had to eat some yardbird from there and it was pretty good as well now it’s not Mississippi Fried lol

How have practices been going? Who are the top players on the team this year?

Only thing I could add  for JSun is nothing has come out about how they look; Pound has done a couple of interviews saying what they are doing.   I'm anxious to see too.

It's so gratifying to see our coaches coaching again during the game. The rain run us off but I could have sat there all night and watched that. We only had two drives but I don't think they ran  the same play twice offensively. . I feel really good about going forward.

I don’t agree with that and unlike you, I can state a reason for it. Former coach comes in, starts developing a team that has a lot of young defensive players. For whatever reason he’s had enough by the time they finish their junior season.

Next coach comes in inherits all that. Matter of fact, he was coaching them on defense when former coach quit. New coach takes advantage of having all those experienced seniors and a really weak coaching group in his classification. Yes, I would put this guy that just left West Point in that week group. I know people in West Point that felt the same way after that game. Point being he don’t have all them players no more most of that team is gone. You know why I doubt him he runs the same damn offense that Tucker Peavy has been running for the last almost 25 years. It’s the same. Their defense won that title not that offense. I think he’s a defensive coach. I don’t think he can develop an offense. What’s gonna happen when a young defense can’t hold up? 
So no I don’t think they’re the overwhelming favorite. He fell into that title last season. Just like a couple of others have recently I won’t call no names but they’ve been called on here many times.

I spent a lot of that time waiting on a pause in the rain to make a run for it talking to a young kid who does some writing for the local coast sports news. He thought Brookhaven was the favorite too .
What I-just said. I broke it down to him . He had not even realized that the coach had already been coaching them kids. He will probably work it in on some article now lol.. Go four it young man. I can admit I did recognize him before I started talking to him. I think it was a Facebook article I had seen. All I’m going to say is this I think this season is going to be a lot more competitive than last down here.

Yes he walked into a better situation though. Brookhaven was more handicapped because of offense

Since no one really wants to give some reasons why we shouldn’t just go ahead and print some shirts now proclaiming Brookhaven the souths representative again I figured I would kind of shift gears to this Friday.

Still when I think of Pearl River Central, I think of a wing offense. Grind the clock score while limiting their opponents opportunities. As someone has already informed me they run a spread now.

Wayne County does again. Everyone that I have talked to is happy that the wing is locked up in that broke down shed full of the other pilfered stuff behind the house Hathornes father-in-law built for his daughter. 
My question is how long has it been since PRC went to the spread? Also, how do they like it compared to before? I don’t see anyone commenting on here about them anymore, except Vott who said they expected to compete for the region title. Are they expected to have that kind of team this season?

PRC has been spread since Feaster took over or should I say functional spread.  That’s probably a little more accurate.  I’m not going to divulge into what was there previously.  Now as far as them being region contenders, that very well could be a stretch.  I do think they clinch a playoff spot, but I’m curious to see a few things in how Region 4-6A shapes up.

 

First of all it’s a 6 team region with Goula, Picayune, Gautier, PRC, Hancock, and Long Beach.  Let’s just take who made the playoffs last year out of this region and apply it to this year as an example.  The only difference we could make is the fluidity of the seeding.  If you change that up, then PRC improves their seeding by default because they wouldn’t be seeded 4th.  The next question that arises is who can they beat this year that they didn’t last year in order to improve their seeding.

 

This is where beating Goula and Hancock come into play.  Last year PRC struggled against these two opponents.  In order for them to improve their pecking order they need to hold serve against Gautier and Long Beach.  Then they need to knock off one of these teams.  If they are able to beat both Hancock and Goula, then they lock up a 2 seed at minimum.  They could lock up a 3 seed if they beat either Hancock or Goula.

 

I’m just genuinely curious to see how Goula does with their new coach and staff because depending on how they do could very much affect the seeding in Region 4-6A more so.

PRC did go 7-3 in the regular season and also beat Picayune. PRC may have the 2nd best player (QB Feaster) in the region behind Xavier Dennis from Picayune.

But they were still a 4 seed and they couldn’t even tread water against Hattiesburg and got shut out by Goula.  Having a good player isn’t going to make or break them because it’s a team effort.  Everyone else is going to have to do their job for them to improve upon their success from last season.  Having a good player definitely helps, but that can only take you so far.  I genuinely believe they can make some noise and are getting better, but who they make noise against remains to be seen.
