What? So you have a situation of outgoing principle and interim sup wanting someone, board votes on pay, but then not wanting to vote said person in?  Then finally, the board, after realizing the mockery they caused, settles on one of the only two people who may dare now take the job.  Only for principle to decide he wants to farther show others the depths of his pettiness, refuses to call the person that finally actually has the votes to get approved.

How do you change the mind of people who wanted their own relative, a jobless coach, to get the job?

 

Well that was then, a couple weeks ago. And he’s one of the likely only 2 who would likely be willing to deal with this shart show now.  

 

But then you got a group that’s steadfast against him, not without valid reason honestly. 
 

However now the board has realized they got to do something cause things are out of hand and they don’t have any other option.  And they almost unanimously vote to approve a certain someone only for the soon to be former principle to refuse.

The board is the reason for the fiasco. Lampley is more than likely going to be who gets the job, and in a few years we will be doing this all over again. That would be my guess

Sounds like it may be at a standstill. They may have to name an interim, have spring practice, and wait for the contracts to end/start.

Who did they vote to appoint other than Evans? I thought he wanted Evans.

Bubba passed over Mitch for Todd Lowery and Jack Hankins, He didn't want Mitch this time any more than then. No matter what he lied to Mitch about. The asst supt selected him along with the sham committee.  The BOE only voted on a salary. They couldn't approve anyone until a salary was agreed upon. They didn't have any agreement  .  Mitch pulled his name the next day.

This is the third coaching hire for Hathorne and every one  was some version of this one.

Mitch would have been an awesome hire five years ago. He would have been good this time too.

There is only one  failure and blame falls on the asst supt, She could fix this in ten minutes Hathorne only answers too her   She is the problem. Her nor Bubba doesn't need to be near the Supt job and filling the position needs to get done next. , Someone from the outside and no ties to anything local

We can agree to disagree on the Superintendent hire. I don’t think we need an outsider we tried that and it didn’t go any differently. I believe we need someone from here with a proven track record. We have more than qualified people right here that knows the things that make our County tick and absolutely do the right thing for our kids.

I get it this is a sports talk forum and nobody loves sports more than I do. But we need someone to do what’s right for our kids and their education. In all my years of following WC up and down the roads filming for all the coaches going all the way back to the glory days with Marcus Boyles I can recall four football players that actually made a living playing football. But there have been thousands that graduated. Anyway the superintendent hire is more than football and yes this has been a screwed up mess. The first hire should have been Superintendent, the second hire should have been Principal then football coach. You have lost some good candidates for this job because they wanted to know who they would be working for this is not something I think this is something I know. This was a rushed process because one board member wanted to hire right away. Well right away has not happened and it has made asses out of a lot of people. Anyway I hope they get it right well at this point there’s not a big pool.

Bravo!!!! that's a great accomplishment by the young man. He could probably use some good news about now.
