why do you think Columbia was so happy to see him leave.

Yeah.  I hadn’t paid too much attention to him or his teams before.  But seeing what Columbia was before he got there, then his one year there, andcwhatvyhrucarebimmefiateky after he left, it’s pretty obvious.

He had a less than stellar time at meridian as well didn’t he?

it was ex South Panola coach Ed Stanley that coached at Meridian. He was fair but not great there.

What does that mean

Pulpwood haulers vs Nintendo players. Their soft. Plus I wonder how many coaches left and went to Mobile. He had pulpwood haulers plus an easier schedule at South Panola. Now things are different up north. He's finding out just how different the south 7A is from north 7A was back then. I don't think the O Line is as big as it was and the receivers are not there from what I have seen on TV. So maybe It’s part talent part coaching.

I think it’s more coaching/scheme than players. Look at how Brandon was before Pogue got there, now they’re 3-4 and can’t score with the same type of players. Just look at how Columbia was before and after Pogue. I haven’t had the chance to watch Brandon but maybe the issue is more coaching/ scheme than players

Coaching is part of it.

Well those Nintendo players have been a top tier program for the past decade and a half

If the now interim HC decides to pursue the position full time then good for him. If he does not or if Brandon decides to go another direction, would you look for a HC with lots of experience or would you look for an assistant at a very successful program and want to give him his first shot as a HC

Those jobs are always tricky since they have to have the advanced certification to be the AD also. A lot of assistant coaches won't have that.

I would  think a coach who does not want to be AD should have to have the advanced certification. Coaching a sport is hard enough as it is, I would want to coach at a school that already has an AD

All depends on the district. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Some 7A schools have dedicated ADs, some don't. I am fairly certain that all of the Rankin County schools are setup with a head coach as the AD also.

An assistant at Oak Grove, Ocean Springs,  Madison Central i can see going with. Also someone who wants to move closer home or his wife is a nurse and she is transferring to the Jackson area.

I believe your correct. JPS may be the only one in the ajackson area public schools with an AD over all the schools.

Say what? You mean to tell me that Callaway Murrah Jim Hill Forest Hill Lanier and Provine high schools have the same athletic director?  There is no way one person can handle all that.
