Well game week is here.  Can Picayune avenge their loss last year versus Gulfport in the last year Gulfport plays at Milner, or does Gulfport find a way to win this one?  This game usually isn’t a cakewalk for either team, so feel free to share your thoughts.

Picayune lost to Gulfport last year????

That’s correct.  Picayune lost 41-21, but they were able to learn from that loss and improve.  The only other losses Picayune had last year were against Brandon and Hattiesburg.

I look for Picayune to put on a show this Friday night. Probably the best offensive line they have ever had combined with plenty of speed in the backfield. Defense is stacked also.

Curious to see who the feature running back will be this year.

I’m thinking you’ll see Xavier Dennis and Jamari Hathorne splitting reps in the backfield and I can guarantee you I’m leaving someone else out as well.

Plenty of depth in the back field.

Will be curious to see what Gulfport looks like. Heard mixed reviews of Jamboree vs. Oak Grove. Just off the cuff, I will go with Picayune in a 35-24 type of game.

Do you know if Gulfport takes cash for tickets?  I think they did a couple of years ago, but these schools that take cash for concessions and no cash for tickets seems to be an epidemic.

If Picayune is anywhere close to what I’m used to seeing they’ll handle Gulfport by a couple of scores at least.

But then again I assumed the same last season so ya never know.

It doesn't always play out the same way on the field as it does in our minds...i.e., OG vs. OS playoff game last year.

I'm going with Picayune but I'm sure that Gulfport will be ready to play.

That’s fair. The better team doesn’t always win.

But the better programs are more consistent. I expect Picayune to turn the tide this year. No pun intended.

Do I even know where to begin with this game?  I’m glad Picayune won this game, but man oh man if they don’t find a competent QB things may not be so good.  The lack of hydration on this team was something else.  Cramps galore.  Special teams was a yo-yo tonight as well.  Had a botched PAT, a non attempt at a punt, a kickoff returned for a TD.  Now granted we had the made field goal and that’s obviously the margin of victory in this one.  They’ve got a lot to work on this week for sure.
