Vott
Not surprised its not at Southern Miss this season. Was expecting it to be at Ole Miss. For years MSU had no interest to host it. I like the move. Hopefully Hattiesburg can be there

It’s been about a decade since they were in Starkville. Should be a good venue & atmosphere. And a much easier drive for North teams

When Oak Grove West Jones Poplarville Picayune and Hattiesburg all played in the title games at USM it actually sounded and looked like a nice crowd. Whenever its at MSU Ole Miss and Jackson it really looks like an empty stadium even though 20,000 may be there
maroontide06
The only way you can get perpendicular to the field at State and Ole Miss is to be at the 50 yard line. That's another drawback as well.

However, for the kids who are competing on that field, what an experience! To play (what for some is the last game they’ll ever suit up for) on an SEC field… priceless. But, for the kids and the North schools and fans, it's easy to make the argument for Starkville, from a point of fairness. Rebel Bert
No hotels No restaurants Just plane ignorant to have it in Starkloserville. Some how I think the MSU football coach had a say in this. MSU does not have the NIL money required to pay students beginning July 1, 2025. No long term plan on recruiting to rebuild their program. This will be free recruiting for players on 14 teams. They are truly at the bottom of the SEC. And there are those in the ACC and B12 that want Ole Miss, Vandy, and MSU replaced with their school of choice. The rules want allow it unless the BIG boys like Bama and LSU leave for a new set up. MSU better get it right quickly.

But ole miss and state officials complained about it being there every year they hosted it. Then after it went to 2 years at Usm, then Jackson (Covid) then 2 more at Usm, and the crowd sizes got larger on average, they warmed back up to it. Would you not like to go thru a season where you just put a whooping on everyone and coasted thru the season instead of having to play some nailbiters and nervously watch a game? LOL. I will take winning all my games 42-7 any day.
