Deonte3455 Posted September 1, 2023 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Laurel had a big oline last year and they weren’t good at all. I don’t think Laurel is a better football team than Hattiesburg. The primary focus is probably their quarterback and I don’t see them as a threat on offense at all even with our 3-4 defense if they decide to stick with it this week. David44 Posted September 1, 2023 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Some insight on what I saw first hand of Laurel last week. They have a pretty good defense. You won't outrun them to the sideline unless there is some miss-direction. Offense line is huge and a wall, much better pass blocking though then run blocking. West Jones has a good defensive line and they had trouble getting pressure. The QB is elusive even if you manage to get pressure, and throws it pretty well. One receiver, Rodgers, was impressive and can probably play on Saturdays somewhere. Regardless of tonight, Laurel should definitely be in the mix in 5A south later. Actually I think Hattiesburg has 1 offensive player taller than the smallest on laurels defense. The overall size difference is kinda surprising. Y’all only had one option for tickets and that was to walk a mile to stand in that mile long line after you had to find a parking spot across the country. No publicized information about the tickets, after people rode around for half an hour to find a parking spot they find this out at the gate SMH!!! Go fan or a ticket booth on the visitor side and the home side should have been in place. Then y’all don’t have a play clock. Y’all gotta do better.
