Dawg83 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Share Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) Seeing a lot of people question Kelly today, and yeah he’s gotta figure out what the heck he’s doing with Harold Perkins. But to me the bigger story is Florida State. They looked like every bit of a national title contender. It had a little bit of a 2019 LSU feel to it. Very good QB, elite talent at the skill positions, good luck to anyone who has to stop them. I could be wrong but I don’t think many teams are going to put up 45 points on LSU this year. Thing is, other than maaaaaybe Clemson, and probably not even them, FSU won’t see a DL as good as they saw last night until the postseason. This does not at all feel like the same Clemson from a few years ago. It had been trending that way the last two years, but this feels like the end of their run as a top contender every year. I will give props to Duke in that Mike Elko is a really good coach that will likely be at a big job soon. But they didn’t do anything crazy tonight, Clemson just totally imploded. I don’t think Duke is a contender for anything other than 8 or 9 wins. But I think Clemson is even further away from the top of the heap this year.
