Or maybe they end up surprisingly running over people this year. I think for sure instead of passing to open the run like in years past this team is built to run first to open up the pass. I’m hearing that we got several very good 9th and 10th graders and west is expected to be stacked for the next 3 to 4 years at least. We will have several sophomores in key spots this year. Picayune is going to have to hit the ground running and so is West Jones. If I had the ability to clone myself so that I could be in two places at one time, I'd like to be at y'alls 9/22 game at Poplarville because I think that will be a great ballgame. Unfortunately I don't have that ability and we play Ocean Springs at home that day so that will be another great one that I'm not going to miss. We bring all the big players on defense and kept the coaching staff for that side of the ball intact so I’m not worried about that. And word is we are 2 deep at most positions on defense without any real drop off except middle LB. On offense I’m told the line will be better than last year and last year was good. We struggled running the ball as both young rb’s were prone to fumble. But both are a year older, experienced, and coaches been working with them on handling the ball. And we have a different offensive philosophy with new head coach, new o coord (was o line coach at oak grove) and new o line coach (was at petal before this year). And a 9th grade qb. So I am tempering expectations on offense. Was told before school let out last year our o line was 6’2 to 6’4 and 260+ across the board. So I expend us to run a lot.
