I said he was not there when Vance arrived that’s how Vance got to build the program.

but who knows now how much building the new coach will be allowed to do if he can.

There's literally no one in his way from stopping him from doing things how he see fit. He's coming into a situation with the foundation laid out for him... he can go from there on how he wants to build it.

He could be coming into a bad situation with his assistant coaches especially his coordinators. I don’t know if they wanted the job but if so to be stepped over for another coordinator with no Head coaching experience probably will not go well. Just my opinion I hope the new coach works out well.

If they feel slighted in any way they should leave. With that being said who said they were gonna be on his staff to begin with

You’re right they may not. Most new coaches may get to hire new coordinators but not full staffs. He’s coming from Georgia so you have to wonder how many certified teachers/ coaches he knows in Mississippi. Again I absolutely have no problem with the hire and wish him the best. He has talent to work with

Finally have a chance to share my thoughts. I was surprised at an out of state hire from that far away. Mobile or new orleans area wouldn't have been a surprise. Thought earlier that hiring in house was a for sure thing. Hoping the new coach keeps a lot of the old staff assuming they wanna stay. Hes got a lot of talent coming back for next season, especially on offense. I dont know what kind of offense he will have, but when you're gonna have the no.1 high school receiver in the country you better throw it and throw it a lot. Spring training will be very important. Hes gotta get to know the players and the players gotta accept the change that happening. And the fans gotta support this hire 100% now.

I agree it surprised me being so far away. But I believe he knows something or someone involved with the school or team. I don’t think he made a blind leap.

Alot of people said the same about Vance especially after his first season. This guy is coming into a way better situation Vance ever thought of when he first got there.

I have always respected your input on here because you speak your mind with some clarity.

For all the grief I have given Vance over the years I thought he would do well at Hattiesburg and he did. He just came from a smaller school into probably the toughest classification coach wise in the state. He did a lot of good things there over his tenure.

Its true no one knows what this guy will do so all we can do is provide conjecture.

I doubt this new guys success because like you said he’s coming into a better situation than Tony stepped into. Tony turned it around. Tony did. Not this guy . It’s very hard to pick up the success of someone whose place you are taking when you were not present to see how any of that was done.
Vance had already had a lot of success when he arrived and had that confidence to fall back on. Whatever pushback he got early he could fall back on that and tell the detractors to back off I’ve did this before.

It’s risky to go with someone not familiar with the people or the area. He almost certainly will not match Vance’s recent success this first season and that will bring out the doubters.

Head coaches often have the latitude to retain or remove coaches from their staff.

It’s honestly the opposite. They very rarely are allowed to remove a coach from staff the first year. They usually can demote coordinators and bring their own in, but there is usually only room to bring 1-2 guys in because of teaching spots.

A real man needs to have a little elevated  BP so he can keep things up for his stroke .

I really wish I could put this in crayon so maybe you could see beyond that sack lunch they give yall everyday. They give that to people who can only eat with their hands.

I was responding to the man because he quoted me. I felt like he  needed to see what I was thinking. See I quoted you to say this. It’s not HHS I have a problem with. It’s the people like yourself that always seem to flip from Laurel to Hattiesburg every ten years. I’m not the only one that feels that way either.
Tell me more about moving to Petal. What do you now about litter in WC ?
Wait . Are you picking up trash beside the road . Actually it would explain a few things

Never had that issue as a HC, and been on the bad side of being an out-going HC assistant more than once. In my experience,  with one-year teaching contracts,  it's quite common.

If I'm not mistaken Vance only kept one person from the previous staff his first season.

I think the biggest piece of this will be who all stays on staff. Those coaches had great relationships from what I am told with the players. Being able to keep them may help get the kids to buy in earlier. If they are let go or leave, I could see it hurting them (similar to Charles Huff at Marshall situation).

As of now only one coach will be leaving. Both the OC/DC will be back.
