rebmus
Bye week for both MSU and Ole Miss. We can all sit back and enjoy the games with no worries of our teams winning or losing. Only 2 games this week with ranked matchups, both in the SEC. #23 Mizzou at #21 South Carolina. I lean USCE picks up the win at home, but dang these two teams are hard to predict. #7 Tennessee at #12 Georgia. UT has a great chance to put themselves in a great position for an Atlanta bid and solidify a CFP bid with a win. IF Beck quits turning the ball over, I like UGA... that's a big IF. #22 LSU at Florida COULD be interesting... I lean LSU wins fairly easily but Florida appears to still have some fight left in them. #3 Texas goes to Arkansas. I don't expect this game to be overly close, but Arkansas did beat Tennessee... could be one to watch. The other SEC games will feature coaches being almost fired on the spot if they lose this weekend. Well, that's an exaggeration... but these other games shouldn't be close. Southern Miss goes to Texas State. I found out today that Reed Stringer is the interim coach at USM. Reed was a GA at MSU during the Croom years and Special Teams coach under Mullen. Reed and I have a mutual friend that gave me tickets to the MSU/Florida game in 2004 for free under Reed's name. I met Reed very briefly after the MSU win, seemed like a very good guy. I wouldn't bet on USM winning, but I'm pulling for them. Other top 25 games with some possibilities of fun watching: Utah at Colorado #20 Clemson at Pittsburgh (I lean this will be a very good game) #25 Tulane at Navy... give me Navy. I put this with Clemson/Pittsburgh... should be a great matchup.
NoWammies
Could #13 Boise St be on upset watch going on the road against 6-3 San Jose St? Feels like one of those tricky games. One I’m questioning is how in the world is #6 BYU only a -2.5 favorite at home against 3-6 Kansas? Tells me a lot about what Vegas really thinks of BYU and their #6 ranking. Dawg83
Thanks for starting this, I wasn’t gonna bother with both teams on bye. SC beats Mizzou. I don’t think Mizzou is very good, merely the beneficiaries of a favorable schedule. They have played precisely two good teams and got smoked by both. Georgia beats Tennessee. Think this game will be ugly but like UGA to win at home and make the SEC title/playoff race very complicated. Florida upsets LSU. Texas handles Arkansas. MSTSatchmo
I’m just not impressed with Texas. Inwas after the Michigan game, but Michigan has turned out to be a bust. They’ve actually had an easier schedule than OM.

NoWammies
Part of me wants to say this Florida defense will give Ole Miss probs, but if hit the quick passes and Dart gets rid of it quick like he did against Georgia there shouldn’t be a prob. LSU has killed themselves with drops but they’ve had guys open middle of field and quick out routes all game long. With Ole Miss, if they can do that the deep middle should open up for some big plays. Not going to lie though, the way Florida’s DL is playing tonight makes me nervous. LSU OL had only allowed 6 sacks all year and Florida surpassed that today with 7. OL is going to have to play the game of their lives. Offensively Florida is a completely different team when Lagway plays however just like on offense, LSU has killed themselves with dropped passes. They’ve had two easy INT’s go right through their hands. Also the LSU front seven haven’t put much pressure on Lagway to have to run on that bad hamstring. Bulldogs4
LSU has been a suspect team all year. And if not for some luck they would 4-6 right now. Florida has improved through the year.
NoWammies
Only took 30 mins after the loss for Devin Harper the #7 IOL in the country and #3 player in state of Louisiana to flip to Ole Miss.

NoWammies
Disregard because San Jose St decided they’d rather keep giving the ball away. In other news though there’s some craziness transpiring at Camp Randall. Prob jinxing it though and Oregon going to come back.

Dawg83
You’re looking at a scenario where Ole Miss, Georgia, Bama, Tennessee are all 10-2. Bama beat Georgia. Tennessee beat Bama. Georgia beat Tennessee. Ole Miss beat Georgia but is soon to have two losses to unranked teams, including one awful home loss. I don’t know what the heck you do with all that. And that’s not even factoring in Texas and A&M.

NoWammies
Pretty simple what you do with Texas and A&M. The loser is eliminated from the discussion because A&M would have 3 losses and Texas would have 2 with 0 ranked wins. Georgia dropped from #2 to being out of it when they lost to Ole Miss so I can def see Texas dropping from #3 to out of it with a loss to A&M. If Texas wins they advance to the SECCG and will also get a playoff berth because I doubt the committee punishes them if they lose the SECCG. They’d prob drop to #8 or #9. A&M pretty much has to win out including the SECCG.
NoWammies
I fully expect when the rankings come out Tuesday they’re going to have Texas #3, Bama #9, Ole Miss #10, Georgia #11 and Tennessee on the outside at #12 looking in. The committee isn’t going to have Georgia jump Ole Miss after Ole Miss just dominated them.

It's really not about the best teams, but really about locking in viewership for the games in order to get more advertising dollars at playoff time. If those losses and everything you just said mattered then they wouldn’t have put Georgia behind Ole Miss this past week and dropped them 10 spots. They did it because of how Ole Miss beat Georgia. It wasn’t some one possession game or a coin flip.
s1nglewing
We'll see. Money drives everything in our country, and it isn't always fair.when it gets down to brass tacks, the bigger market is going to win IMO
Bulldogs4
Ole Miss @ Florida has suddenly become a potentially dangerous game for Ole Miss. I think Ole Miss wins because it is often difficult to duplicate what Florida just did two weeks in a row. Plus Ole Miss should be at full strength. This will be a tricky road environment as well. I can envision this game being similar to the SCAR game but a bit closer for Ole Miss. The SEC is a jumbled mess right now. TX, A&M, TN, GA, AL& OM all have a chance to go to ATL. Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
NoWammies
Looks like Vegas knew what they were doing with BYU. The way Colorado is playing, it appears they’ll be the team that gets the first round bye unless Arizona St can knock them off in the championship if they make it. Sun Devils have a big game next weekend against BYU. Win and they’ll be the #2 team. Lose and it’s pretty much Colorado/BYU.
Bulldogs4
Kansas’ record of 3-6 was a bit deceiving as they played better football than the record indicated. Plus they had been playing better as of late. Not a surprise to me but that at least eliminates BYU unless they win the Big 12.
