NoWammies
Big 12 has a big weekend next weekend. I already mentioned the BYU/Arizona St game plus got Colorado going to Kansas. Got a couple big games that could mix up the playoff rankings as well. The biggest one is Indiana traveling to The Shoe to take on Ohio St. Both teams are pretty much in regardless of the outcome, but a win could def help Indiana out. Got 9-0 Army at 9-1 Notre Dame. An Army win could def shake up some things.
rebmus
Ole Miss #9 in both the AP and Coaches poll, hopefully the same in the CFP poll that matters. Either way, Ole Miss better win out to have any chance of making the playoffs.
NoWammies
Yup can’t come out flat. Need to jump on them early and get the crowd out of it like we did against South Carolina. Just like the Georgia game, this is one of those times where you take that next step as a program. Do you wanna be the same team in the past that has had the WAOM moments or be the team that starts something big? That Georgia win made a lot of positive things happen in the recruitment trail this week that could possibly change again with a loss to Florida. Lots on the line in The Swamp. Bulldogs4
Yep. As Al Davis used to say “Just win baby.” Florida will be a challenge but is a very winnable game. And though the State-Ole Miss game is a rivalry, it would take a colossal failure on Ole Miss’ part to lose that game. 10-2 gives you pretty good shot at making the playoff depending on what else happens. NoWammies
Almost all Ole Miss fans remember the Rebels going into The Swamp and upsetting the eventual national champions causing the Tebow speech. The one I hope doesn’t get repeated is the one in 2015. Two weeks removed from beating Bama in Tuscaloosa, the Rebels went into The Swamp riding high at #3 and 4-0. 4 turnovers later and Will Grier looking like Tom Brady that game was over in the 1st quarter. That was a horrible outing that I didn’t even bother watching the 2H of. High hopes were killed that night.
Dawg83
Florida is such an interesting team. You kinda have to throw out second half of Georgia and the Texas game for them because they were down to their number three QB. But after struggling early in the year against A&M and Miami they have looked pretty competent since around the State game. There’s nothing that just blows you away but they do have two double digit wins against teams that Ole Miss lost to. I suspect OM wins if they are focused and disciplined but a flat performance could be trouble. That stadium can be tough if you let Florida hang around. Dawg83
Also, regarding Atlanta, it looks like the most straight forward path now, barring any major upsets, is that it will be the A&M/Texas winner vs Alabama. But like I said, an upset somewhere could change that.
NoWammies
Tre Harris will be a go for this weekend. I just hope the offense doesn’t get away from what’s won them these last few games. Logan Diggs quite possibly will see some action as well. Also Kiffin said Nolen and Pegues have been playing hurt which we all knew and appear to be 100% now and the offensive line first and second units are all healthy for the first time this season. I was iffy about the bye because it kind of kills momentum plus a possibility to cause Ole Miss to drop in the playoff standings but it def helped out to get the guys that were hurt some time to rest.
