ESPN has 13 “experts” that have been predicting the 12 teams each week.  This week 8 of them have SCarolina in the 12.  I was not expecting that many.  One has Alabama.  No love for OM.

A positive for OM fans though is almost 3/4 of them had that fourth SEC team which could be any of the three between Bama, OM and SC.  With all of them winning you wouldn’t think they’d jump each other, but they have SC jumping both.  That Clemson win just isn’t as impressive as OM or Bama beating Georgia plus both of those beat SC.

Gus has money a plenty, especially after Auburn bought him out.  He's choosing less stress by just running offense, much like chip kelly does at ohio state now.

If I were in Gus's shoes, I'd strongly consider doing the same thing.

Really surprised SC jumped OM in both polls.   Georgia was a better win than Clemson and the OM win against SCarolina was better than the SC win over A&M and IT WAS AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA.

SC did have better losses, but OM looked rather average the last two games after looking unbeatable against Georgia.

Maybe the committee has more respect for OM than these other pollsters.

Neither Ole Miss nor South Carolina are getting in so I stopped worrying about it. Ole Miss will be going to the Las Vegas Bowl and South Carolina will be in the Citrus Bowl vs Illinois since the Citrus Bowl gets first SEC and Big 10 choice.

Alabama will be the 12 seed traveling to take on 5 seed Notre Dame.

I have Bama out too, I think the ACC gets two teams in instead.

I would’ve said Miami instead of Bama but the AP dropping them all the way to #14 was a surprise. Interested to see what the committee does with them. The AP dropped them more with a loss to 9-3 Syracuse than they did Bama with a blowout loss to 6-6 OU. That Bama brand favoritism. Miami really doesn’t have that great of a resume though so we’ll see.

Bunch of folks jumping into the portal today. One I’m interested in is Eric Rivers. Was 4th in the nation in receiving yards with 1,172 yards and 12 TD’s. We had good luck with one WR that came from CUSA. Julian Humphrey entering today was kind of surprising since he started 10 games for Georgia this year but also kind of not since he lost his starting job.

Kiffin and Beamer on X like they’re running for office.

Both are making such a good case, it definitely means neither will be in.  Lol

I accidentally looked at a BYU post on there the other day that messed up my algorithm and now I get a bunch of BYU posts. I’ve gotten a kick out of seeing so many of their fans claiming they have the better resume than Bama, Ole Miss, USC and Miami and they deserve the auto bid plus the Big 12 is the toughest conference this year because an OK State team that went 0-9 in the conference beat Arkansas and ASU beat State.

Yeah you knew the campaigning and PR spinning was gonna happen big time this week.

By about Wednesday someone in the media will be pushing for the SEC to get six bids.

Fascinated to see what happens with State and its defensive staff. It appears there is a chance Hutzler returns, which would certainly NOT be a popular move with the fan base.

I would think if he were going to fired it would have happened Saturday. Heard one of the State beat guys say earlier last week  that they have the money now to get quality guys out of portal but people he had talked with said  no one wants to come play for Hutzler.

The only teams that are safe will be the top 10 when released tonight. One team outside the top 12, A State or IState, definitely getting in and possibly a second if Clemson wins.

Of the top 10 Ga would be the only one that might drop out if they lose.

Teams guaranteed to be in Oregon, Texas, Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Indiana. Add A State-I State winner,  Clemson- SMU winner, Boise- UNLV winner. If SMU and Boise win then there are two spots left. You would have Miami, Georgia, Alabama, OM, S Carolina fighting for those last two spots. Almost all projections have Georgia in even with a loss since they're in SEC Championship game, I'm not sure, and many have Miami still in. If SMU or Boise were to lose then they are thrown in that mix for the last two spots.

Any surprises tonight?

Not so much a surprise but I think people are going to lose their mind over whoever the last team in is, regardless of who it is.

All of the bubble teams are gonna be huge SMU fans this weekend. I think Clemson winning means a stolen bid, because I think SMU would still make it even with a loss.

You are right about that.  No matter who it is, there will be some fans going off.

I think it will look like the AP poll.  Arizona State at 12 so they only have to put one of Bama, SCarolina or OM in the 12.  Maybe not drop Clemson so much, then the committee hopes Clemson wins the ACC and they can reason leaving all three SEC teams out.

Got put at #13 so that means no playoffs. Miami at #12 means they’re out as well. Bama at #11 is in for now. That logo got them in because as much as ppl say Ole Miss struggled against Florida and also against State, they seem to forget Bama is two weeks removed from losing by 21 to OU then not looking good against Auburn. It is what it is though. I’m not upset at the committee’s choice. Ole Miss should’ve won the games they were suppose to. Now the question is since we’re the first SEC team out do we go to the Citrus or Las Vegas Bowl. Citrus gets the first SEC choice. Both bowls will have a story to it based off bowl predictions. Citrus would be against Illinois and former QB Luke Altmyer and Las Vegas would be against USC which I know Kiffin would love to win. I think if it’s the Las Vegas bowl against USC, Kiffin might be able to talk all his guys into playing and not sitting out. Bama could still be bumped out however with a Clemson win because I think SMU is a lock. Not sure Boise St can afford a loss in their championship game though. It’s a possibility they could still get in but it’s very unlikely. Does Jeanty being up for Heisman help their odds to get in with a loss?

This year OM would have benefited from a head to head with Bama - assuming they would have won.
Losses to UK/Florida/LSU cancel out losses to Vandy/Oklahoma/TN.  Plus Bana drilled LSU.
OM looked better in wins against GA and SC, but each team won those games.
Then there’s the name on the jersey.

OM had no business losing more than 1 with their schedule.

I’m looking forward to the championship games this weekend.  Six or seven of the 12 playoff teams will be in action.
