College Football Weekly News

Recommended Posts

Had a couple things happen yesterday so added this thread. As weeks go on we can just use this for weekly updates.

1. Billy Napier will remain Florida’s coach after this season. So much for Kiffin to the Gators. He has done a good job the last few weeks being down to his 3rd QB. Played both Tennessee and Georgia close. Good thing to go ahead and get this out of the way with the stretch they have coming up.

2. USC’s Dylan Stewart has as an opening NIL asking price of 1.5 million for next year. Will he remain at USC or will we see him in the portal? Everything I’ve read has USC negotiating a deal to keep him. The new college football as we know it.

3. Johntay Cook a former 5 star WR is no longer with Texas as of yesterday. Ole Miss, Georgia and Oregon have already reached out to him.

A college player making more than most NFL players make in a season…

The death knell of college football as we have known it will happen over the next decade if this continues like it is right now.

*Florida State HC Mike Norvell has fired his Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and WR coach. Can’t say I didn’t see some firings coming.

Saving his own job, if possible.

Cut was too hardheaded to see how this works.

Apparently an Alabama player lost all of his mind and is now off the team.

What’s wrong with trying to get with your head coach’s daughter? Golding and Sunseri were his main recruiters to Bama so good chance he ends up at Ole Miss.

I’m the words of George Costanza “Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell you I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon, you know, cause I’ve worked in a lot of offices and I tell you people do that all the time.”

OM at 14 had a chance.  They probably need TN and Bama both to lose, but you never know.

See I think the Clemson-SC winner is in a stronger spot than OM.

But either way you’re taking small chances. All the teams that are in “win and in” spots are double digit favorites this weekend. And the teams on the outside need multiple of them to lose.

Clemson/SC is a huge game for playoffs teams.  Not just the two playing.

Bama and OM do just have a slim chance, but two teams that were double digit favorites (those two ironically) with the playoffs on the line blew it last week, so you never know.  Lots of playoff implications the final week of the season.
