A thing that gets lost in tonight’s win is we went from probably never seeing Tre Harris play for Ole Miss again if we lost to him getting another week of rest in the bye week.

They finally are getting production from multiple people in the passing game.  That’s what I thought would separate them from other teams at the beginning of the season. If Dart has time, someone should be open.

I’ve said it few times but these last few games Dart has made the smart decisions just getting that 10 yard pass instead of just chunking it down field. It’s been key in getting a lot more guys in the mix. Def was the way to go tonight to counteract the pressure from Georgia. I think missing Tre has actually helped with it.

And Golding has tweeted two shark emojis so far tonight for two commits. This is the kind of game that I knew could make or break the future. Can’t be settled for just tonight though. Gotta finish.

IMO it’s still NC or bust.  OM has the team to make a run.  They also have a team that lost to KY at home.

I think it’s final four or bust. Technically Ohio St has the best team money can buy this year. Oregon went out and spent just as much money as well. This team tonight though with the way the defense showed up and great decision making on offense could beat any team in the country. This wasn’t the team that lost to UK that walked in thinking they could just walk in and win because of the hype.

I'd love to see an Ole Miss vs Ohio State game in the relatively near future. Judkins could say "Hi" as he gets up from the turf.

Didn’t really get to watch it but that’s a dang statement by OM. Objective for now is to not screw it up against Florida or State in games you should absolutely win. Then you see where the postseason chips fall.

lol been a busy man, honestly haven’t watched just a ton of anybody’s games. I’m doing good to catch up on YouTube highlights.

I understand. Instead of getting to enjoy one of the most fun football times in Oxford today, I spent the early games Christmas shopping with the fam. I made sure to be home by 2:30.

TBH as a State fan the Toledo game killed my enthusiasm for this year and my viewing has been extremely casual and passive ever since. Have not even had a chance to watch much of State tonight and not terribly worried about catching up. More invested in hoops now lol.

I was like that for a week or two after the UK game. If there weren’t playoffs this year I would’ve stayed uninterested. And now the Grambling game about killed my enthusiasm for hoops.

Did not have Bama boat racing LSU in Tiger Stadium on my bingo card.

 

Good luck ranking all the SEC teams, playoff committee (though LSU’s playoff chances are over now). No idea how the Atlanta tiebreakers work either. If Tennessee and one of the Texas schools wins out it’s very simple, beyond that I have no idea.

If Iamaleava is unable to play next week for Tennessee that could mean trouble for them @ Georgia.

Right.  They’ll be added to the list of 2 loss teams most likely.  Then the loser of TX and A&M will join them.  
Bama, OM, UGA, Tennessee and TX/A&M all wanting one SECCG spot.  Or do they really want it?  lol.  A loss in that game and you may be out the playoffs with 3 losses. 
I’m also assuming S Carolina takes out Missouri next week.

Wasn’t that crazy.  The two pass plays to tie it, then Oklahoma fumbling right after the announcer said the game has been so ugly you might want to just play for OT. Lol

There is likely going to be at least one (and possibly more than one) SEC team that goes 10-2 and doesn’t make the Playoff.

A win tomorrow changes everything for Ole Miss. A win changes the way the outside and media view Ole Miss. A win tomorrow will take away a lot of the Kiffin can’t win the big one narratives. A win tomorrow plus winning out shows the portal is just as important as the high school recruiting class if consistently good at it. A win tomorrow has them high school recruits looking at Ole Miss harder to match up with those portal guys. A win tomorrow keeps the train running for when this dance is over. A loss tomorrow and the season is a bust and there will be a lot of questions plus what if’s. Ole Miss has to find a way to finally get out of their own way and take that step. Get rid of the WAOM moment we’ve all become accustomed to that causes us not to get our hopes up. Tomorrow the Ole Miss team we’ve been waiting on all year needs to finally show up!!!

 

 

I think there are some parallels between this game last night and the Bama-State game in 2017. Ole Miss aced it last night and it could certainly help not just this year but the future as well.

After the 2017 game, it was apparent that Mullen he could not quite get there and decided to move on (to what can now be described as not greener pastures). I always maintained that Mullen left a year early. The 2018 team was set up for great success had he remained in place. 

 

I think Florida is just trying to get to the end of the season (same as State). Obviously anything is possible but Ole Miss would have to really f**k things up really bad to lose one of these two games. 

A couple of other observations: don’t look now but Bama is playing some good football. UGA, while still a really good football team, is not quite the juggernaut they were 2-3 years ago. Missouri has to be luckiest team west of the Mississippi. SCAR is quietly playing some good football (that win for Ole Miss is looking good now). LSU, who I have had as a suspect team all year, is very fortunate to be where they are today as they were gifted two wins (SC & OM).

Not going to lie, when we sacked Beck and he fumbled which was picked up by Georgia’s RB for about a 15/20 yard loss but Ole Miss picked up a personal foul facemask when tackling him I just knew that was the WAOM moment that was about to make the game spiral downhill. Went from what would’ve been 4th and around 25 to a 1st down across midfield and if I remember correctly that’s when it was 22-10. Luckily the defense stepped up again. Can’t remember if that’s the drive Nolen recovered the fumble later on or Saunders got the INT.

Not sure which is more impressive. The synchronization or how Nolen was able to spilt #53 and #55.

Teams/players are going to make mistakes/commit penalties but Ole Miss did a good job of not letting them affect the next play or series last night. That is a big key to play winning football.
