This guy really has his panties in a wad because I said it’s not the most well coached VERSION of OG. I stand by what I said and I’m not slamming the staff at all. Yes they are young, and the reason I pointed at coaching is because they expected these young guys (especially defensively) to go out there and do the exact same things last years senior heavy squad did and from a personal standpoint they simply can’t. To that point I also commented on the adjustments they made Week 5 which have had positive results.

Ha. Very fair indeed. Our lack of discipline was certainly on display last night. I’ve never been less enthused about an OG win.

Both. And we don’t have the personnel to do some of the things we were able to do last year especially defensively. They waited until Week 5 to make some adjustments that may or may not pay off. Time will tell.

This isn’t the most well coached version of OG and we are young in some spots. But we (should) handle Meridian with relative ease. Ya never know though. I woulda been very spooked about this game if Marcus was still roaming the sidelines

OGs problem is the defensive coordinator literally only runs 0 coverage man to man D. Most years they have the athletes capable of doing so. This year they do not. Also they didn’t look prepared or motivated coming off the Hattiesburg loss. You don’t beat Grenada and Ocean springs then turn around and lose to MRA like that unless there’s some sort of issues in the locker room. They have a real problem that needs to be solved asap.

We will rise to the occasion in November like we always do. Crowning champions in September is an amateurs game.

I’m not sure. I know how I would want to use em based on what I’ve seen so far but I’m no coach. He definitely adds versatility. We have had some issues dealing with speed from sideline to sideline so bringing him in to man the middle and moving Malachi Henderson (our fastest LB) around would be the smartest move IMO

Kinda but not really? OS scored 21 in the 3rd including a blocked FG return for a TD and got the lead then OG scored 21 unanswered to win. OS played well though. Their defense is well coached and they have some real weapons on O.

Because usually Petal is more well coached/disciplined.

So after watching Hattiesburg the last two weeks… the defense looks pretty solid.. but I think the lack of offense and consistent QB play should be pretty alarming. Especially against the more elite teams. Luckily though your region top to bottom isn’t much to write home about

Oh yea the metro bias has always been pretty heavy with them. Ive learned that some publications just are what they are. Even if Brandon does choke every year. But overall their coverage is a pretty good read.
