The fact that OG and WJ have yet to play each other is pretty crazy.

I just haven’t seen anything from Hattiesburg to think they’d dominate Petal. At least not yet. Petal just had some of their worst years in a while and still beat Hattiesburg and now they have one of the states best coaches back at the helm. That guy literally just went to Ocean Springs last year and won a playoff game he had no business winning.

Even if you beat Petal.. OG and WJ are on a totally different level than them.

The only question for OG is the sophomore QB. They’re loaded everywhere else and getting AJ Lewis was huge for the offense. I’m curious to see how WJ retools a very tough defense from last year probably the best in their history. I’ll be shocked if West Point doesn’t repeat. There’s no competition in 5a

I could see Hattiesburg being 5th to start in 6A. Cant really justify them being ahead of the rest of those teams yet. I know they have some D1 talent but they need to win a few. Including not losing to Petal week 1

I agree. The biased side of me wishes it was at USM every year. Hands down the best atmosphere and best city to host from an accommodation standpoint.
