Grenada… who was literally just in this game last year….Has one loss to OG in Week 1. Hattiesburg is the fav… but not by much.

5a and 4a are the most watered down classes to me. 4a south can get pretty competitive though.

I doubt you’re really surprised. You know 5a is pretty watered down. Or at least you should.

Exactly. West Point may get to 20 titles before they get offered any real competition.

It really is a strange phenomenon. Never seen a fan base so butt hurt about a game they actually won.

They only lost to OG. First game of the year. And I’m sure they’ve gotten better as the years goes. And they have the “know how” with quite a few of those guys back that went to state last year. They’ll be tough for whoever comes out of the south.

That is not an nfhs problem. That is a Hattiesburg can’t host a decent stream problem.

Bro lol… we quite literally just won a 7a championship and sent several kids to the D1 or Juco level. South State a year after that was our ceiling. No one is salty. The more talented team doesn’t always win and I’m fine with that.

Must I remind you of the last 2 decades between OG and OS or did you just start appreciating football down there when you got Brey Hubbard? You woulda got smoked last year too had you not choked against Meridian.

Nobody’s disappeared. I stand by everything I said. OG was the more talented team as they are every year but youth is youth and it ultimately bit them as it did at times throughout the season.

Common opponent was mentioned by your fellow coast buddy. Oak Grove is better than Oceans Springs. It’s that simple really. If OG doesn’t get in their own way like they are prone to do, they will win.

Doesn’t add up. The same team OS struggled with twice OG just smacked by 30 less than a month ago. We’ll see.

I’m waiting on a football related explanation from the coast guys as to why Ocean Springs is gonna win this game. Outta pure curiosity

And please understand even a “sub par” Hoover team last year woulda mopped the floor with most teams in Mississippi. They were big, fast, physical, and of course well coached. OG just had a few more playmakers in the skill groups.

To you it meant nothing and you’re entitled to your opinion .. but that was actually a huge statement game. Really any time a premier program in MS beats a worthy OOS opponent it means a lot to the state, because we don’t always get our just due in the fact we play a quality brand of football. It’s bigger than bragging rights.

Agreed about the private schools. Completely disagree about out of state competition. Good early opponents, a chance to prove ourselves against other great programs in the southern region, and not to mention they’ve all been pretty good games. Beating Hoover was a peak moment for OG history.

I’d like to see Oak Grove schedule Madison Central and/or West Jones.
