Currently watching CC/East Webster game and things I’ve noticed. 1. CC’s OL is probably they’re biggest weakness as a team. They have some big guys but they don’t give much protection which is surprising from a CC team. 2. CC has a solid group of skill guys but QB doesn’t get much time to throw and the RB has to make the best on his own due to the OL struggling. 3. CC QB doesn’t have a very strong arm but he’s a good game manager. 4. Defensively CC mostly runs a 3-4 and gets plenty pressure from their DL. 5. CC has a very quick athletic group of LB’s that fly to the ball. 6. #1 for CC who plays both RB and S is probably the fastest kid I’ve seen in 2A this year and has good size to go along with it. I think they have the team to beat Union but they’d have to execute a solid gameplan to beat Charleston.

I go to church in Calhoun City and couple of their players said yesterday that they like they’re flying under the radar.

I actually had high hopes that OM could pull off the upset against Georgia when Bowers went down but I think Georgia just had their best offensive output this past weekend.
-
I think a lot from OM’s side will come down to these next two weeks. If they lose the next 2 against A&M and Georgia do they mail it in like it looked like they did last year? I’m still waiting on OM to play that complete game on both sides of the ball. They’re going to need to these next two weeks. I just know when it comes to the Egg Bowl lately you just can’t guarantee a win from one or the other regardless of how the season is going for them.

Just read where Leake Academy’s sophomore QB George Wilcox threw for 542 yards and 9 TD’s with 0 INT’s this past Friday night against Silliman. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0CEaKnmn2xaL468jEScnf8JyPEYvafeeb78mbRXBPXj16bBSWRPHhGjq5SAaSD66il&id=100063473593545&mibextid=cr9u03

When was the last time the favorite actually won the Egg Bowl? This has State beating USM for their 5th win and then winning the Egg Bowl to get bowl eligible written all over it.

Their next game against Oxford really showed their heart because they could’ve went the wrong way after losing to Winona but they bounced back and ruined Oxford’s homecoming. An Oxford team who was 2-0 at the time and had beat South Panola the week prior.
-
Huge game because I see these two playing again for north state which would make this game winner take all for the homefield advantage in that rematch. I’ve only seen South Panola once this year and was early in the season against Oxford so can’t give any analysis. Have seen Grenada play Winona and Oxford which was also early in the season. Just going off of what I did see I’d go with Grenada at home.

There’s pluses and minuses to subscribing to NFHS. There’s been plenty of times where they had a game scheduled to be on it which I was excited to watch and then there something be wrong with the stream. There’s some games where you just wanna drive to the location and show them how to move the camera. Like Dub said though it’s still worth it for getting to see other teams across the state you don’t normally get to see. It comes in handy for me since I’m gone for 28 days straight.

It’s kind of reminiscent of a few years ago during Enterprise’s last year in 2A. I remember a regular season home game against Taylorsville where Jimmerson had an excellent gameplan mixed in with some Taylorsville miscues that led to a game that came down to the very end which you used to let us know Enterprise would win the rematch and win state. I also remember the rematch in the playoffs that was over midways through the second quarter. I’ll prefer using Enterprise’s complete body of work over the season instead of one game.
-
I’ll play along. Enterprise would be lucky to finish 4th in Region 4 which is actually the toughest region in 3A. They would battle it out with Mooreville for the final playoff spot. Choctaw County is just as good as Noxubee and Kemper. Then there’s two more good teams with East Webster and Nettleton.
-
I’ll also add that giving up a TD and then immediately turning around and giving the ball back inside the 20 on the ensuing kickoff cuz the returner didn’t even attempt to catch the ball is usually a recipe for disaster that doesn’t fall on the ref.
-
I watched the game and all I saw was Shannon’s QB running for his life in 2H cuz the OL was getting beat. Shannon did come out of the gate fired up and made it a game in the 1H but Amory wore them down midway through the 3Q and dominated the 4Q.
-
Which are almost all starters who play both ways. You’re losing atleast 8 starters on both sides of the ball. The only guys who are productive that’s coming back is Miller and McGowan.
-
Agreed on all that. Yesterday on FB a guy was saying watch out for Loyd Star running through the south part of the playoffs and I couldn’t do anything but shake my head.

Amory 27 Shannon 6 Final

They’re kinda similar offensively to Union because both are balanced with a good size OL, talented QB’s but I’d give the advantage to Charleston there. Union has a better all around WR group though however Flowers at RB for Charleston can break one at any moment and he’s only a sophomore. Defensively Charleston has the advantage in the front seven that’s better against the run but both have questions in the secondary. All in all in 2A I’m more impressed with Charleston at offense and Bay Springs at defense. Bay Springs made me reevaluate things last night cuz they looked night and day different than the last time I saw them. They’re still somewhat one dimensional though on offense with the run but if a defense can’t stop it then it doesn’t matter.
-
I’m aware. I just like feeding him stuff to see what he’ll say next cuz I actually enjoy his content. We gotta enjoy it now with Enterprise losing almost their entire team to graduation this year so won’t get to see much next year.
-
Depends on which fan base you ask. It’s going to come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. Both Charleston and Union didn’t play their A games last night and they can’t do that in the playoffs cuz it could cost them.
-
Enterprise’s 9 game schedule consisted of 5 teams with a losing record. Went 0-4 against the teams with a winning record being outscored 126-42.
-
Na they’re in the delta region of 1A. There’s no team left after O’Bannon and Riverside in the 2A region with Charleston, NorthSide and Leflore County.

That boy Derrick Henrying folks out there. https://fb.watch/nXxSN7LXqI/?mibextid=cr9u03

On a two game losing streak. Two weeks removed from being shutout against a team EBF said had a porous defense and had a running clock going on them in the 2Q. Lost two more kids to injury on an already small roster that has to play both ways. Just last week lost a meaningful game at home(moral victory I guess)=peaking at the right time. I do however think this will be a 36-35 type game that could go either way.
