Rewatching the Winona/North Panola game from this past Friday and it’s crazy how agile and smooth Lockhart moves at 6’5 360. It’s one pancake after another. State is getting a great one with him. Also crazy that they have 3 guys on the OL averaging around 6’2 300. Big reason why Richardson has been so comfortable at QB.

Could just schedule teams like Charleston, NorthSide, St Joe and maybe even throw in a Clarksdale or Cleveland Central. I will say if Simmons starts off slow like they did last week against Sacred Heart, they’ll dig themselves into a hole they can’t get out of.

Prob would’ve this year too but the Glover kid Elzy has at QB is a game changer. He pretty much single handily kept them in the game because Choctaw County just couldn’t get him down and he’d make a big play.

That was still kinda hard to understand. Yes Caledonia has caught some breaks with their bracket but it’s the playoffs where anything can happen and they’ve done what it takes to advance. From what I read they were also without a few players against Ripley. I’ll add that I guess having an easy bracket makes up for playing in arguably the hardest regions in 4A. Certainly in the north.

Hard to say because I think it’s gonna be a one possession ballgame at the end with one of them having to get a defensive stop. I’m leaning more towards Elzy since playing at home. Big question is does Elzy come into this game with the same passion they played against Choctaw County with being the big underdog in that one or do they come into it thinking they already got it won based off of last weeks result?

Played them one time for the 3A state championship in 2019 that JDC won 25-15.

That math is strange cuz when one goes back to look at the start of Enterprise games on offense isn’t Pickens, Burt, Gunn, Brandon Johnson and Culbreth all seniors? Then on defense Culbreth, Gunn, Burt, Pickens and Ridge Jackson?

I guess tell that to every MS sports writer who all had Sebastopol winning and CalPreps for also having Sebastopol as the winner. But hey if it makes you feel better I take back the upset comment. Congrats on moving on to the 3rd round and good luck against Charleston next week.

I was clearly talking about if Sebastopol and Hamilton were to switch spots. Sebastopol would easily be a 1 seed in that region and Hamilton a 2 seed behind Union in Region 4.

Of course you’d think it would be being a Hamilton supporter. Please explain why it is. A 6-5 team was going up against a 10-1 team that has 2A Mr Football as their QB. All of Hamilton’s fellow region teams were blown out in the 1st round being outscored 114-20. Not to put Hamilton down because they were more certainly tested throughout the year with their out of region schedule than Sebastopol and it showed tonight grinding out the win.

1 seed cuz that region is the 2nd worst in 2A. It was most certainly an upset. Sebastopol would’ve been 1 seed in that region.

Holmes County will get to see if they can quiet the doubters next week as they host West Point. Should be a good one. Clarksdale will look to keep their hot streak going as they host Lafayette in a rematch from earlier in the season that Clarksdale won 34-24.

Elite Eight Matchups Charleston @ Hamilton Union @ Calhoun City Collins @ Heidelberg Raleigh @ Scott Central In the North one team from every region remains after Hamilton pulled off the upset against Sebastopol. The biggest win of the night comes from Heidelberg over Bay Springs. Raleigh showed bunch of heart winning tonight despite dealing with a team full of guys battling the flu most the week.

Lafayette 14 Canton 10 Final

Could possibly throw Amanda Elzy in there now in 3A North even though Winona is up there. Tied 32-32 with Choctaw County they get a 95 yard pick six with 20 secs left and win it and upset the Chargers. Face off against Mooreville next week.

Idk there’s been a bunch of great ones tonight but Oxford showed some heart coming back in this one that’s for sure.

I agree. First time getting to see Heidelberg this year and was very impressed. QB has some wheels on him and made some huge first down runs to seal it in the end. Incredible catch by their WR too Mossing a Bay Springs DB to take the 20-14 lead.
