Lol. I can say that the superintendent wants Jimbo, but principal wants whoever the other candidate is which I suspect is Fortenberry the DC at Sumrall. Normally, the superintendent gets his way but right now things are hectic with the super and the board. A lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. A hire is expected to be made next week during spring break and the new coach should be notified before school starts back the next week. We will see who wins out.
-
Carter applied for the job or did NEJ contact him?
-
He didnt get fired from stringer, he quit.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if the drama with the superintendent and the school board is prolonging the football hire.
-
Well there’s more than just that going on to. There’s a real mess with the board right now that people don’t know about.
-
Well i know that. But why should this board meeting be so exciting? Most board meeting only have about 4 or 5 people there
-
Taylorsville can get hillman out. All they have to do is elect board members that will vote him out. They have the power to elect whoever they want for beat 2 and beat 3.
-
What’s this in regards to? The taylorsville hire? Or some new revelations regarding the super and the board?
-
I hear that Hood has been told he will not be getting the job. So that leads me to believe it’s Jimbo or Fortenberry. Depending on who gets hired will let us know if the superintendent or the principal made the call.

Freddie represents a small fraction of Taylorsville school district. The majority of his district is Raleigh, then Mize, then Tville. That is the only beat that covers all 3 schools. The majority of beat 2 is Taylorsville, and maybe a little of Raleigh. The majority of beat 3 is Tville, and a little of Mize. The majority of beat 4 is Raleigh and a little of Mize. The majority of beat 5 is Raleigh. The voters of Mize have the least voice of all 3 towns when it comes to electing board members. Raleigh has the most voting power, followed by Tville, then Mize. So if Raleigh voters and Tville voters are upset with the way the board operates, they have nobody to blame but themselves because they hold all the voting power. I imagine, beat 3 will determine whether or not Tville hires Jimbo or not. It’s probably going to be a 3-2 vote. If the principal is allowed to hire her preference, then it could be a 5-0 vote. They usually never go against a principals wishes.

At least you aren’t actually claiming Enterprise to be the championship favorite. Think this may be first time ever for that
-
County. It was big deal back when they done it. There were some people from Mize were irate about it, because they knew that Mize was getting screwed.
-
What’s funny is, his house is the last house and ONLY house on his street that is in beat 3. The rest of them are beat 1. Probably 80% of his beat are taylorsville voters. And that’s the same way Freddie Martin’s beat, and Prentiss Adcock’s beat is too. Their beats are about 20% Mize voters and 80% Raleigh voters. Maybe a little more than that in beat 1 but still majority Raleigh. When they redrew the districts years ago they made sure Mize had no voice. If people from Raleigh and Taylorsville are mad about how the board operates, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
-
I was told the basketball coach. I don’t if that’s true or not, just what I heard.
-
Well Taylorsville people elected him. They elected him and Hicks both. And that’s two votes that were for the superintendent. The districts were drawn years ago in a way that ensured that mize does not have a voice in elections. Raleigh and Tville determine who is elected.
-
Depends on if one of them does not include the AD position. I had heard that the Tville job will not include the position of AD, and they obviously hurts your pool of candidates
-
If it’s a promotion, most of the time the school will release you from your contract.
-
He applied for the Philly job too.
-
Jay was principal at stringer. He used to teach and coach at Mount Olive years ago
-
He did vote to reappoint him, which disappointed a lot of his voters. But they have butted heads plenty of times. The two board members that do whatever he tells them to do are from Raleigh and Tville. But from what I hear, the super may not be as secure as he thought he was. A lot of stuff has happened in the last several days that has muddied the waters. We will see how it turns out.
-
You are wrong. It’s a Taylorsville guy and Raleigh guy that are lock step with the super.
-
Heard the super may have angered some board members and they don’t want to play ball with him. We will see. He usually always gets his way.

Best teams that you have personally seen in Each classification.

I wouldn’t have 1985 meridian in the discussion for best overall team, simply because they lost 2 games that season. Their offense was not very good. But their defense was probably the best ever in all classes. I think they gave up 25 points all season, and two scores against them were interception returns that wasn’t on the defense. -
Last I heard Milner was the guy, just waiting on board approval.
-
I just heard a rumor that will probably definitely affect the hire. Sounds like the super may not be getting his way
