Mize never gave themselves a chance due to turnovers. Moved the ball up and down the field, but fumbled 3 times in scoring position. Once on the 2 yard line. Had 5 fumbles in total. We even picked up some turnovers ourselves, but then we would just turn it right back over to them. Probably had close to 300 yards of offense, but just couldn’t protect the ball.

I’m gonna go ahead and call Leake central with the upset.

The angle from behind makes it look like the QB was down for a good solid second before the ball popped out. But I saw some random pictures taken during the game that show it clearly from the front angle, and the ball is clearly out of our QB’s hands just before he’s knees touched the ground.

After seeing another view of the play that resulted in the fumble return for a Touchdown, it was indeed a fumble. So the officials did make the correct call.

Both teams finished with essentially the exact amount of total yards. Mize with 199 yards total offense, while Raleigh finished with 198. Raleigh got a defensive score and special teams score, and that’s all it takes. Fans always obsess about the offense, but it’s usually the other parts of the game that end up being the most important.

I think there are 5 teams in the south that could win it all. All are right there together. Mize, Raleigh, Heidelberg, Bay Springs, and Scott Central

Great game. Not a lot of offense, which is what I expected. The officiating was very suspect, but that’s not what determined the outcome of the game. Raleigh did score on a fumble return for a touchdown where the Mize QB was clearly down before the ball came out, but it is what it is. Thats part of the game. I think the biggest thing was, Raleigh had turned the ball over numerous times every game but tonight they had zero turnovers. And defensively they were just too good up front. Kudos to them on their last drive to run out the clock too. Decent chance these teams face again in the postseason.

Heard nothing

It was a really good game. Raleigh only scored once on offense but also scored on a fake punt and on a fumble return. The fumble return was a blown call by the official because the runner clearly down, but refs are human. Their last drive was crucial, taking up the final 6 minutes of the game.

Have you heard what numbers all the Smith County schools turned in? I think Mize was 185. Haven’t heard anything from Tville or Raleigh.

I do. But that’s not why I say that. It’s just a good group. Our best overall player is a sophomore too.

Well. Their schedule isn’t “that soft”. Lake and Union are usually pretty good. Mize is good. Clarkdale is a rivalry game and has been pretty good up until this year. And they can’t help who their district games are. Noxubee and Kemper are really good.

Yes it was. Kind of took the wind out of their sails. Our backup QB is our starting middle linebacker. Big kid, 10th grader. He is our best passing QB. We have a really good sophomore group.

Mize had 418 total yards of offense last night. 30 carries for 388 yards and 4 touchdowns. Averaged 13 yards per carry. 3-4 passing for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Enterprise should handle clarkdale pretty easily

Lol. On the 4 touchdown runs, we had roughly 225 yards rushing on just those 4 carries alone.

Well we play Raleigh next week, so that will be settled then. Raleigh’s defense is extremely good. Scott central and Heidelberg are probably still the favorites. You knew bay springs was bound to bounce back with their backs against the wall like they were

I will say, Enterprise is pretty physical on the OL and DL. They played hard.
