I see 3 pretty interesting matchups. Calhoun city and Winona obviously is one, but I think Winona takes care of business there pretty handily. West Marion and Lumberton is another big game down in the south, I will be interested in that one as well. And Tville and Raleigh of course are a smith county rivalry but Tville does not have the offensive fire power to be able to threaten to score enough on Raleigh’s defense. I will be surprised if Raleigh doesn’t pitch a shutout.

I like East Webster in the north. I’m glad there are a lot of competitive teams in both the north and south. The south has a lot of competitive teams, but Heidelberg is the head and shoulders favorite. I noticed they have 17 seniors on the team this season. That’s a lot for a 2A program.

Yes. Tried to punch the ball out and got ejected for punching. The referees definitely felt like they needed to be a big part of this game. Except it was only the ones on the PCS sideline that wanted to be involved. The two on our sideline stood there like statues and never moved the entire time. The clock operator was definitely falling asleep up in the booth. Mize recovered two fumbles in the 4th quarter that the refs gave the ball back to PCS after huddling together and nobody could determine who saw anything even though Mize had the ball and no whistle had ever blown. Phantom pass interference in the 4th quarter that came about 5 seconds after the play was over. And then of course letting the time run out on the last play of the game after our centers helmet got ripped off, when we were in chip shot field goal range was the icing on the cake. It was amateur hour, and PCS knows they had that gift wrapped for them.

PCS wins 28-25. The officials took the game away from mize in the 4th quarter and at the very end of the game. An absolute joke of an officiating crew And you will not see a PCS fan or rep dispute this claim. They saw it too.

I can’t speak of any player from Raleigh, cause I have no knowledge of that. But there are no players from Mount Olive that Mize has gotten. There is a line on SCR 53, if you are south of that line you go to Mount Olive. If you are north of that line you go to Mize. They may have a Mount Olive mailing address, as I myself also have one. But they live in Smith county and in the Mize school district. And the player you are thinking of in 2004 was Trell Hagans, and yes he moved to Mize. If you actually move and live in the school district, then you are legit. And Mize was winning state with or without him. We only had two close games that whole season, and that was at south state and the state championship game and he was injured in those games.

Oh I have a clue. It’s not a big secret either. Tville had plenty of players back in the day that that were supposed to be at west jones.

They also got alot of those wins when they were stealing players from west jones. Tville is fighting not to become the next Mount Olive right now.

They should be ok. Don’t think they have enough to win the north. But they are probably top 3 or 4 in the north

East Webster returned a good nucleus from last season and are pretty dang good I think. I kind of like them as the 2A north favorites

I’m gonna be watching a couple games really closely. Well, 3 games actually and it’s the 1A/2A south matchups. Stringer/Clarkdale: Im curious to see if Stringer can avoid a letdown after their big win against enterprise. Lumberton/North Forrest: I’m not one that’s on the Lumberton train this year as much as a lot of others seem to be. I think north Forrest actually wins this game. They are improved. Tville/Bay Springs: I want to see how Tville bounces back after getting up so big for their county rival. I really think they could have made week 1 their superbowl, and I’m curious to see if losing that game causes them to trend downward. Their offense is about to face 3 very good defenses the next 3 weeks in a row and I could see them struggling to score at all the next 3 weeks. An 0-4 start is likely and that could cause them to give up on the season.

Not only that, they have been hit hard with injuries

From what I have seen so far from their jamboree and from week 1, they spread it out but they are pretty balanced. Went more rush heavy last week according to their stats on maxpreps. I do know they had a really good defensive lineman last season that moved to Oak Grove and is playing there this year.

They were, but they were used to playing loaded competition. They were just as good as the Lamar Academy’s and Simpson Academy’s that they played. Matter of fact I think they beat Lamar academy last season

I figure most people will have PCS picked as the favorite in this game. They are a 3A school, and they previously always were matched up with Prep, JA, MRA, and Hartfield when they were an academy

Mize is 1-0, lol. PCS is better than Tville. Mize has to play better this week.
