  1. Truth, Diamond is good for 3 innings on good days... I'm thankful the bullpen is rested and doing well in the postseason.
  2. Auburn had to love tonight's game. Arkansas used 7 pitchers tonight, that leaves the bullpen pretty thin tomorrow. No offense to any Auburn or Arkansas fans, but I'm rooting for an 18 inning high scoring game between those two, burn many many arms. After 2 games, Ole Miss gets thin on the mound... we'll take all the help we can get.
  3. Delucia and Elliot have sure stepped up in the postseason, as have the bats. I agree on the bullpen during the regular season, but they deserve credit also. If I'm not mistaken, the bullpen has given up 1 unearned run and 0 earned runs so far in the postseason. That's HUGE.
  4. Oklahoma sends Notre Dame to the loser's bracket, they're in very good shape to reach the finals now. A&M vs Notre Dame on that side of the bracket to stay alive.
  5. I think the ND vs Oklahoma game will be a good one this evening. Then again, it may be a blowout like the rest so far??
  6. Yep, winning the first 2 is equally important. IF OM ends up losing game 2, very little chance to advance from the loser's bracket. I'm sticking with my Oklahoma vs Arkansas final pick for now.
  7. CWS is proving to be wide open as we thought. The 4 hosts in Omaha all lost game 1s while the 4 two/three seeds won game 1s. Arkansas looked very good today. Ole Miss looked pretty dang good also... we'll see how OM vs Arkansas works out.
  8. It's only 1 game, but Oklahoma made my pick of them look good today.
  9. Jinxing bastages! Ole Miss goes 0-2.
  10. Great question Satch. I honestly haven't watched enough of the other teams to give an educated guess on that. On Ole Miss... Delucia and Elliot have become a pretty dang good game 1/game 2 starter. Mallitz and Johnson have been much more stable stepping in from the bullpen lately. Diamond is pretty good 1 time through the opposing lineup. You may get 3 innings but he gets knocked out in the 4th. Things get shaky in game 3s and even worse in game 4 (if needed) in the first round of the CWS. IF OM can get to the finals, they have as good of a shot as anyone to win it all IMO. Ole Miss's pitching isn't deep enough to make a run from the losers' bracket IMO. BTW, your A&M vs Arkansas final is likely the smartest pick. Those 2 coaches have a lot of Omaha experience, and that certainly matters.
  11. This likely won't age well, but I'm picking Oklahoma vs Arkansas in the final.
  12. I have lots of OM friends going, but I doubt I can take off to go right now. Work is just too crazy and also trying to finish a house build this month. I'll be glad to be rooting from my chair, but I'd sure rather be there.
  13. Stanford beat UConn to advance to the CWS. We're down to Auburn at Oregon State.
  14. Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Arkansas weren't even regional hosts, but they're playing as well as anyone else right now. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see those 4 the last 4 left with Oklahoma vs Arkansas in the final.
  15. In the same bracket, but OM vs the Auburn/Oregon State winner in game 1. Arkansas will face the Stanford/UCONN winner in game 1.
  16. Base hit, Arkansas is in Ohama also.
  17. Arkansas just tied it 3-3 in the 9th with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd. A deep fly will win the game.
  18. What a pitching performance by Ole Miss the past 2 weeks. We'll see what happens in Omaha.
  19. That was a helluva play by USM's SS.
  20. Oklahoma eliminates Virginia Tech to advance to Omaha.
  21. Notre Dame eliminates the Vols to punch their ticket to Omaha.
  22. Another thing to keep in mind, Texas and Oklahoma will be in the SEC shortly. IF this super regional round was happening a couple of years from now, it would include 7 of 16 teams left with all 7 still alive for Omaha after day 2 of supers... with 1 already locked into Omaha.
  23. I figure many were low on A&M due to the slow start. Once those new players at A&M gelled, they've been pretty dang good.
  24. USM's Friday night ace is starting tomorrow. He threw Monday so he was held out today. Huge win by OM today, still plenty of baseball left in this series though.
  25. A&M advances to Omaha. Three game 3 regionals on tap tomorrow, along with four game 2s.
