  1. State seemed to dominate the first half, but the score doesn't show it. I think State will run away with this in the second half.
  2. Looks like Scott Frost will be working for Nick Saban next year, Nebraska just lost to Georgia Southern.
  3. Ole Miss played an FCS team and looked pretty much like they should have overall... so I take this blowout with a bucket of salt. Special teams were outstanding. Defense was pretty close to outstanding. Other than giving up a couple of first downs on the first drive, the defense was lights out until the third string came in. They still only gave up a FG. Offense clicked well under Altmyer in the first quarter. Alt kept rubbing at his right shoulder in the second quarter, it looked like he got injured. He looked BAD in the second quarter. Dart did a good job of taking care of the ball and looked better throwing some deep balls tonight. The 3rd string offense in the 4th quarter- yikes. They went backwards 30 or more yards with penalties on the first drive. Kudos for getting a late TD for the 3rd string, but the special teams got them the ball around the 6 yard line, first and goal. I suspect Dart starts at Georgia Tech next week.
  4. Appalachian State completed the upset, what a surprising day.
  5. Washington State beat #19 Wisconsin. Appalachian State is in victory formation- just need to down the ball two more times without fumbling.
  6. Marshall beat #8 Notre Dame. #6 A&M is tied with Appalachian State. Washington State is leading #19 Wisconsin.
  7. Bama won, barely. All of us expected a blowout that didn't happen.
  8. Lackluster passing by both "QBs" tonight, while Cunningham was more impressive as a "RB". I like Plumlee as a player, he definitely has the heart you want to see as a player. I've yet to see where he has the talent. I still wonder if Plumlee isn't another Spurlock, let him try to be a return specialist.
  9. Louisville leads UCF 17-14 after three quarters tonight. The announcers have mentioned "Plumlee, former Ole Miss QB" a lot tonight. Sanogo (former Ole Miss LB) has been more impressive tonight.
  10. 83, I like these weekly topics- keep it up. I'll add another OOC game that's tonight... Louisville @ UCF, Plumlee is the QB for UCF. It's tied 7-7 early on, could be a good one to watch. OM SHOULD be a snoozefest, but I've seen OM mess up "easy" games like this too often... we'll see. I'll add LSU, Auburn, and UGA to snoozefest games- should all be blowouts. I feel MSU will win and cover the 10.5 spread... but it IS a road game and Arizona did pretty well in the transfer portal. This may end up being a great game that few will watch due to the 10pm start. Many are building up the Bama @ Texas game- I figure Bama rolls early and often. South Carolina @ Arkansas should be a good one. While I like Arkansas at home, Rattler at USC may give them an edge to pull an upset or three. I like Wake Forest over Vandy BUT Vandy hosts... Vandy doesn't look horrible this year, and I'm not sold Wake is really a top 25 team. I lean Wake wins but doesn't cover the 13 point spread. Missouri @ Kansas State. Honestly, does anyone care outside of these two states? Both teams are 1-0 and I hope the fans enjoy that fact while they can. I suspect both teams will have a losing record at the end of the season. Appalachian State @ A&M. A&M wins, but I suspect a closer game than the line... I don't see A&M winning by 19. #24 UT is favored by 6 @ #17 Pitt. That's just an odd line on the surface and another example of why I dislike polls before week 5ish. I think the line is about right... UT wins by about 6. UK @ Florida. I think Florida's QB Richardson may well be special. UK's best RB is supposedly not playing tomorrow. I see Florida winning and covering the 6 point spread.
  11. I may well be wrong, but my thoughts on it: It's Arch's decision first. Cooper and his mom have a lot of influence obviously, but letting Arch make his own decision with some advice. The Uncles and Grandparents give advice if asked, but don't try to influence his decision. I wouldn't say Peyton (or Eli, Archie, Olivia, etc.) have "nothing" to do with his decision, but would agree they have little to do with his decision.
  12. Yes, Arch is Cooper's son. Cooper did attend/graduate from Ole Miss. Cooper signed to play WR at Ole Miss but had a neck injury that ended his career as a player. IIRC, the neck injury was found before he played his first game. Had Cooper been playing WR, there's a strong chance Peyton would have come to Ole Miss.
  13. Arch doesn't have the money his grandfather, dad, or uncles have... but he's far from poor. I understand why top recruits follow the money in almost all cases (it's been that way for a while, NIL just put it over the table instead of under the table). Arch doesn't need any money, and his family certainly doesn't need any money to pay bills. In Arch's case- I would think he'd want: Be drafted first round (which will likely happen wherever he goes to college IF he live up to the hype). In his case- I'd throw this one out of the decision making. The next three make sense to me. 1. Have a great OL, WR, and RBs... so he isn't beat to death by the defense to avoid injuries. 2. Win a national championship. 3. Win a Heisman. IF he wants to play in the SEC under these decisions, Bama or Georgia makes the most sense. Outside of the SEC, I think he should go with Clemson, Ohio State, or USC. (USC may make a ton of sense with Lincoln Riley the new HC).
  14. I debated putting Penn St/Purdue in the top 5 first week games. It was a good one also.
  15. 1. FSU/LSU. That was a great one. 2. Florida over Utah- back and forth with the one ranked team upset. (2 other ranked teams lost, but to other higher ranked teams.. one of those two may have qualified as upsets on the betting lines, I didn't check). 3. NC State over East Carolina. 4. North Carolina over App State 5. Pitt over West Virginia.
  16. For anyone that didn't watch the end of this, you missed a great game. FSU wins 24-23 on a blocked extra point.
  17. 24-17 now, defenses can't find a stop anymore. FSU better score one more time to win, or it could be an epic OT game.
  18. FSU answers with a TD, up 24-10 now. Looks like the defenses are winded on both sides. FSU SHOULD be able to hold on and outscore LSU, we'll see.
  19. LSU suddenly woke up and may make this a great game in the 4th quarter. 17-10 Free Shoes U now.
  20. I was coming to post the same, most obvious targeting call I recall seeing.
  21. Free Shoes U vs LSWHO tonight. I'm not sure who to pick in this one, but lean LSWHO. Norvell hasn't lived up to the hype yet at Free Shoes U, maybe he will this year?
  22. Depends on IF Sark is still the coach at Texas after this season, signing Arch could help save his job if things are shaky. I still lean Arch ends up at Georgia.
  23. Good to see you back around Dores. Doing well is a matter of opinion. Is this a "$75K club" or a "how much do you bench bro" question?? **
  24. Liberty wins in 4OTs, 29-27. Nice effort by USM. Somebody give Hugh Freeze a hand.
