  1. That's certainly an "interesting" hire... Maybe it will end up a great hire, who knows? If I had to bet, it won't end well. Best of luck to Dilfer, it would be kind of fun if he had great success as a coach. To me, it's more interesting when these surprise hires work out well.
  2. SEC Mike on Twitter: "This is the first time I have heard of this being in a coach's contract. Hugh "Freeze has agreed to relinquish control of his social media accounts when he becomes the Auburn coach" Link https://t.co/qcECi2Sk6C https://t.co/LNWaN4TZib" / Twitter
  3. Freeze at Auburn will be an interesting watch.
  4. A&M upsets West champion LSU. IF LSU upsets UGA in the SEC Championship next weekend, the playoff picture gets even more muddy than it already is.
  5. Southern Miss beat UL Monroe to get bowl eligible today. Kudos to them. Between MSU/OM/USM/Jackson State, it's a pretty good year for this state.
  6. South Carolina finished 8-4 (4-4) same as Ole Miss and MSU with back to back wins over top 10 (at the time) teams. I suspect South Carolina gets picked for the higher bowl between the three teams, then MSU, then Ole Miss.
  7. Kudos to State, they just outplayed OM at the end of the day today.
  8. I agree 83, I just don't see Leach leaving.
  9. IF Lane leaves OM Friday AND Leach retires Friday, that will certainly be a fun follow with OM and MSU both fighting for a new HC at the same time.
  10. That's VERY possible. I lean towards THIS is the thing, Lane hasn't made up his mind.
  11. The roller coaster continues... now it's rumored Lane is staying at OM. I stand by what I said earlier... I don't think anyone knows ish.
  12. It's been a roller coaster for sure. Monday, it seemed about 50/50 that Lane is staying/going. Tuesday most OM fans seemed to think Lane is staying. Today most OM fans seem to think Lane is going. I have no idea what he'll do, depends on what Auburn is offering (or IF they're offering... I do believe they will offer). There are rumors Auburn is offering $12.5 million per year. IF SO, yeah.. he's gone.
  13. Meh Satch, WCBI hires grinders for sports "reporting." Lane may well go to Auburn, but I'd bet good money Sokoloff knows absolutely nothing about Lane and Auburn. Lane has a couple of funny tweets back about this "breaking news."
  14. 3 turnovers and too many penalties (including 2 holding penalties that brought back 2 TDs)... that doesn't win many (if any?) SEC games. Kudos to Arkansas, they outplayed OM enough to win.
  15. Well, I'm glad none of us predicted the Vandy/UF game... I suspect we all would have guessed wrong. The games have been much more interesting today than I thought they would be.
  16. A lot of this will be repeating/agreeing. Yeah, week 12 is always one of the worst weeks of college football when it comes to interesting games. OM @ Arkansas is easily the best SEC matchup on paper and that game is definitely typically a good one. I'm picking OM to win, but I sure wouldn't put money on it. Strange things happen in this matchup often and seems to go Arkansas way more often than not. 4th and 25, need I give other examples? Scrolling through the top 25 with both teams ranked playing this weekend (I may have missed one?) #7 USC @ #16 UCLA should be good. USC favored by 2.5. #10 Utah @ #12 Oregon also should be good. Utah favored by 2. I'll throw in #22 Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma. This is somewhat a "who cares" game this season, but I have a feeling it could be a very fun watch. Bad choice of programming IMO, 3 of the 4 games I mentioned start at 6:30 or 7:00 while the other starts at 9:30.
  17. I'll say this about the 2 ADs being discussed. IF Ole Miss was looking for an AD and hired Cohen... it certainly wouldn't be my first choice but shrug my shoulders and would certainly not be pissed about the hire. It's a "meh" hire with some potential to me. IF Ole Miss was looking for an AD and hired back Ross Bjork, I'd be pissed and not give a dime. I was tempted to send A&M a thank you card for hiring him, I'm still tempted to.
  18. It's definitely a disaster given the money they are paying Jimbo. I'll add the NIL money to land the #1 recruiting class this past offseason while wondering how many of those transfer out this offseason?
  19. Bama, UGA, LSU, and Texas wins is my best guestimate. I feel like I really SHOULD pick TCU, but I feel like Texas pulls off that win.
  20. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Ole Miss 1/2 of the SEC games this year. If they don't I suspect this is Kermit's last year and I really hate to see him gone. I'm a huge fan of him and his family, even though his family is "True Maroon" ha. I was a big fan of the Kermit hire, I'm hoping it works out for him and OM both.
  21. No doubt B4. Even this late in the season, things are fairly unpredictable. LSU is a great example. After a slow start, they're gelling great and playing very well now... them winning out isn't out of the question at all.
  22. Props to MSU for winning also. I watched the end of that after the Bama/LSU game, MSU/AUB was a great late watch.
  23. Props to LSU, I called that one wrong also. That may be the best game I've watched all year.
