Ole Miss "won" 4-3 after 6 innings over La Tech tonight. La Tech actually took the lead 5-4 in the top of the 7th but the game was called due to weather, so it went to the last completed inning. No telling which team would have won in 9 innings tonight, but that certainly sucks for La Tech.

OM lost to La. Tech 6-5 tonight. 13 LOB typically isn't a good stat for winning games.

Bracketology shows OM predicted a 7 seed right now, decent place to be. I'd like to see them win at least one in the SECT to stay at the 7 or even win some more and move up to a 6 potentially. MSU women predicted to be a 9 seed right now.

Ole Miss run ruled Maryland in the 7th to pick up the series. Maryland's bullpen was pretty horrid in the 7th. 6 walks (including a HBP) then a grand slam to end it. 7 runs on 1 hit with zero outs. That's almost unheard of. OM's one loss came on Friday night with a bullpen guy starting against #13's Friday night guy. Nice start of the season. Hopefully Elliot will be ok by SEC play.
-
Lady Rebs beat Bama to finish 4th in the SEC, pretty good regular season. I'm guessing around an 8 seed in the NCAAT if it started today, hopefully they pick up a couple of SECT wins to move up to a 6 or 7 seed.
-
Ole Miss is the ONLY SEC team with an undefeated men's basketball head coach! ** Kidding aside, nice effort by Ole Miss tonight... but LSU is terrible. A&M and Mizzou are on deck to close the season.

MSU bounced back with a 5-1 win over ASU today.
-
OM followed up last night's 9-2 loss with a 12-6 win today vs #13 Maryland. The pitching and D weren't overly impressive today, the bats saved the day.
-
Good win for MSU over A&M. That win is one that likely punches MSU's ticket IN if they end up on the last in/first out bubble.
-
I should clarify, IMO 22 is the magic number to have a "no doubt" NCAAT bid. Get to 22 wins and selection Sunday is watching to see where you go and at what seed. MSU definitely could get an NCAAT bid at 21 wins, possibly even 20 wins... but then it all depends on what happens with other teams, especially the conference tourneys with surprise teams getting auto bids taking up slots of the 68.
-
That's where I am. As of today, MSU is likely a bubble NCAAT team but most likely an NIT team. For a first year coach, that's a win.
-
I'm sticking with MSU needs 22 total wins to be safe for an NCAAT bid, anything less depends on what other teams do. The loss at Mizzou is far from a dealbreaker tonight, but it did make the margin of error slimmer for MSU hoops.

Huge potential breaking news for Ole Miss baseball, Hunter Elliot isn't pitching this weekend due to "forearm tightness". IF that's a lingering thing and Elliot is out long, that's a huge blow to Ole Miss.

Ole Miss picked up the win over Arkansas State 11-3 tonight. Still zero errors on the season. This obviously will not continue, but definitely a good sign with new players in positions filling in without making early mistakes.
-
Ole Miss run ruled Delaware two of three games for the sweep. One thing that stuck out to me, 0 errors on the weekend.
-
Ole Miss run ruled Delaware in the 8th for the second time in a row, 10-0 final today. USM had to work for a win vs a decent Liberty team today and won 2-1.
-
USM beat Liberty 3-0. Good day for the state of MS.
-
OM and MSU both won 11-2 today to start the season. Like 83 said, weak opponents so I don't think these games really told us anything other than both teams won easily vs teams they should have won easily against. In other SEC news, Georgia hosted Jacksonville State today and lost 8-5.
-
MSU likely needs to win 4 of it's last 5 to get in the NCAA Tournament, which is certainly possible with the schedule left. Any other loss will need to likely be made up with a win in the SEC Tournament. 21 total wins keeps MSU in the strong conversation of a bid, anything less is NIT. Unless (very doubtful) MSU loses 3 or 4 of it's last 5 and misses the NIT, it's obviously a successful season for the first year head coach. It will be interesting to see how MSU progresses the next few years, I see a lot of potential based on what we've seen this year.
-
"Ole Miss at their best", have you seen Ole Miss play this year?
-
MSU/KY was an interesting watch tonight with KY pulling out a road win. The first half looked like 2 competitive teams, the second half looked like 2 teams trying to lose. KY moved to the right side of the bubble while MSU moved to the wrong side of the bubble, still time for both teams to move up or down. OM would gladly trade places with either team this year, just pointing that out before the first response of "LOL Ole Miss". Ole Miss is just horrible this year.
-
Sportsmaniac10, that was quite a long post... but well thought out. Ole Miss men lost again tonight at Florida, no surprise there. The chances of Davis being at Ole Miss next year are between slim and none. I really hate that since I really have a lot of respect for Kermit and his family. I will wish them all well whether or not Kermit is the coach at Ole Miss going forward.

It wasn't the best SB, but was definitely one of the better SBs to watch. Mahomes played with a ton of heart while injured and deserved the MVP. Had the Eagles pulled out the win, Hurts would have deservedly won the MVP. Both QBs played great, we'll see more of them for years to come.
-
Good first half but IF Mahomes isn't able to play at near full strength in the second half... this game will get ugly.
-
So are South Carolina and Ole Miss. LSU MAY be worst of the 3? We'll see.
