  1. I'll go with: South Carolina Bama Ohio State Oregon FSU LSU Auburn (I really don't like this pic either way)
  2. Like I said last week, voters will move Ole Miss up in the polls after looking at the final score. MAYBE Ole Miss deserves to be in the (likely) top 15 on Sunday, MAYBE not... it's very questionable either way.
  3. Ole Miss better focus on beating Georgia Tech right now.
  4. Florida State struggled with Boston College. South Carolina led Georgia 14-3 at the half... LULZ WUT? UGA up 17-14 now. It's early, but Bama losing 3-0 to South Florida??? Tulane 7 - Southern Miss 0 at the half. A lot of unexpected scores today.
  5. LSU's freshman RB #28 looked like he may grow into a really good RB for LSU.
  6. I think Pancho was referring to the #17 ranking, not OM fan's opinion. I may be wrong though.
  7. I expected LSU to win, I didn't expect them to flat out dominate. It's a long season, I don't think LSU is as good as they've looked today nor do I think MSU is as bad as they've looked today.
  8. Zero games between ranked teams this week. The closest we have to 2 ranked teams playing (unless I've missed something) is LSU/MSU. LSU is ranked and MSU is in the "others receiving votes". This game deserves a 2:30 or 6:00 kickoff IMO instead of the dreaded 11am kickoff. Satch, the lawsuit looked pretty silly to me from what I read online (which I'm sure didn't tell much of the whole story). $40 million dollars between Ole Miss/Lane Kiffin with this player basically not making the starting lineup and being asked to move to OL from DL? He claims he was kicked off the team, but is still listed on the roster... supposedly still is on scholarship? A lot of "pain and suffering" in the lawsuit according to articles. Shoot, I'd like $40 million from Houston Nutt for the pain and suffering from the Jacksonville State loss. Plenty of MSU fans would like $40 million from Croom for the Maine loss. It seems pretty dumb to me, but I'm certainly no lawyer.
  9. The LSU/MSU should be a great game. I like MSU to hang in there but LSU to win. I'm rooting for USM, but picking Tulane. Ole Miss SHOULD win easily, I'm not sold on that. The offense really sputtered when Tre Harris went out last week, I'm interested to see how the offense looks this week without him. Florida/Tennessee. Us old folks remember when this was the YUGE game which determined the likely East champion and likely SEC champion. I'm picking UT to win but something keeps telling me to pick Florida for some reason. A couple of other potential good games: BYU at Arkansas (I'm picking BYU) Kansas State at Missouri (I'm going with Kansas State).
  10. Quite a few Ole Miss fans got hammered after that Tulane game.
  11. Milroe will look like Tom Brady in 2 weeks vs Ole Miss.
  12. The positives: Ole Miss won and is 2-0. Voters will see the 37-20 score and be "impressed" with the Ole Miss win. The negatives: The Ole Miss OL got pushed around the whole game. The Ole Miss DL got pushed around ~ 1/2 the game. ...................... I have no idea what to think of Ole Miss after this game. IF this is how Ole Miss will play the rest of the season, it will be a long season in SEC play. MAYBE Ole Miss's players came in too confident with Tulane's starting QB out and just expected to win without putting forth 100% effort? It's been a weird Saturday of CFB. There's been quite a few unexpected games by ranked teams today but almost all of them have figured it out before the game ended. Utah trailed Baylor until the end but won. Colorado struggled with Nebraska until late. Clemson struggled with Charleston Southern for the first half. North Carolina is back and forth with Appalachian State in the 4th quarter. Tennessee struggled with Austin Peay for the first half. A&M lost at Miami 48-33. LSU is tied with Grambling 7-7 in the first quarter. South Carolina (not ranked, but still) trails Furman 7-0 in the first quarter.
  13. I like State to win fairly easily... maybe close the first half but pulling away in the second. I haven't seen Tulane play, I only know their ranking (for whatever a ranking is worth this early in a season). I think OM should win, but we'll see. I'm not sold on Colorado after beating a TCU team that lost a ton of starters. With that said, Nebraska didn't look good at all. Colorado starts 2-0. I'd love to see USM upset Florida State, but I'd sure bet against that happening. Bama rolls. No mention of Auburn at Cal? I have no idea on Cal, but will pick Auburn.
  14. Almost all of these opening games are "warmup games" and that's what Ole Miss had today. On offense, I couldn't ask for much more at all. Dart played very well and was out right after halftime. 18/23 passes/completions along with completed the first 11 in a row. 334 yards passing, 36 yards rushing, 4 TDs. Sanders 8/14 with 134 yards with 2 TDs. Howard played 1/2ish of the 4th quarter and was 3/4 with 56 yards. Howard didn't throw a TD but did QB 2 TD drives. Ole Miss punted once the whole game, and I don't recall any 4th down conversion attempts. On defense, I'll gladly take it vs last year. The first series the OM D looked lost AF and gave up a long TD. The D gave up a lot of yards in the remainder of the first half but created turnovers when it mattered so that's a wash. The D was very good in the second half. (Again, this was a very weak opponent) We'll see how Ole Miss looks on the road against a pretty good (on paper) Tulane team next week.
  15. Very true, I figure only us older folks realize that. Florida wasn't good at all annually until Spurrier came along. It's only the first game for both, and vs very different opponents... but I'm really unsure who looked better(worse) in game 1- Florida or Vandy?
  16. Navy probably isn't very good, but Notre Dame sure looked impressive today. #13 looks fair enough, they'll probably move up after this blowout and I wouldn't argue it. We'll see. Southern Cal started slow (normal for 1st game) but is blowing out San Jose State now... as a #6 team should. I'm not sold on USC either but we'll see. Vandy leads Hawaii 28-14 late in the 3rd quarter, best game I've watched today so far. Vandy is certainly no threat to win the SEC, but will beat some SEC teams this season if they try to just "go through the motions" against them. Predictions on OM/MSU... I see both teams somewhere around 6-8 wins so 7-5 for both teams I guess. I have no idea on USM, but I'm sure rooting for Will Hall to do well.
  17. This has been a fun series to follow. LSU/KY is the only game left today, and LSU is killing KY 12-0 in the 7th.
  18. TCU grabbed the second spot a bit ago. Oregon looks good to grab the third spot, but Oral BJ Roberts isn't going away quietly. 7-6 after 8.
  19. I missed the games today until the past hour. USM not only holds a 4-0 lead in the 5th, Tanner Hall didn't pitch in the game. IF USM can finish this game with a win tomorrow and start Tanner Hall in game 2 (or 3?), I really like USM's chances.
  20. "Shot-in-yay" enters transfer portal from Ole Miss. Good luck to him. I'm looking forward to seeing what USM does tomorrow. I'm hoping they win it all.
  21. Weird regional so far, Auburn lost to Penn 6-3. Auburn and USM face off tomorrow to see who keeps hope alive.
  22. While I was picking Auburn to win the regional, I thought it would be a close regional between Auburn and USM. Obviously still plenty of games left, but USM definitely put themselves in a tough hole to dig out of. Many felt Campbell was snubbed without getting a host bid. Campbell lost to NC State 5-1 in their first game. It's hard to argue you deserved to host when you lose the first game to a lower seed.
