MSU and USM close for 1 and 1/2 quarters, MSU pulls away and wins easily. UGA and UT could be interesting, but I figure UGA rolls... UGA started the season sluggish but (like Bama) seems to get better every week. Utah/Arizona is the game I think should be a great one. I'm going with Arizona in a last minute win... maybe OT? Oregon State and Washington is another potential great game. I'm going with the Beavers.

LULZ, that sure would make the crowd go wild... in very different ways. Ole Miss fans would probably walk out of the stadium right after it happened.
-
Very strong rumors that Lane Kiffin will be in Starkville next Thursday. Kiffin has NOT denied taking the MSU job, stay tuned! **
-
What's the win expectation through 10 games for the new MSU coach next year? 5? 6? More?
-
This should be the much bigger story, and you're correct... few are paying attention. While I figure Harbaugh gets reinstated, I also think he makes a jump back to the NFL which opens a huge college job for some coach.
-
IF A&M throws 100 million guaranteed at Kiffin, I couldn't blame him for taking it. On the flipside, Kiffin is making ~$9 million per year at Ole Miss with a seat cool as ice right now. Kiffin waiting on a well oiled machine (like when Saban retires at Alabama in a few years) makes more sense to me... but who knows. Back to A&M, where does Petrino land. Would MSU kick the tires on him?

The next CFP will have them right next to each other I'm guessing and it wouldn't surprise me to see Mizzou 1 spot ahead of Ole Miss. Both are 10-2- push. OOC, Ole Miss beat Tulane while Mizzou beat Kansas State- push. Both lost to Georgia- push. Other ranked teams played: Mizzou beat Tennessee while Ole Miss beat LSU- Push. Ole Miss's other loss was to Bama while Mizzou's other loss was to LSU (a team Ole Miss beat). Ole Miss should be ranked ahead of Mizzou if the two finish with the same record... but who knows.

Georgia didn't have a single play for negative yards. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before. It will likely happen shortly as I suspect Georgia takes knees to end the game.
-
Announcers mention Dart's collarbone as he left the field, if it's broken... damn.
-
Yep. Georgia is dominating the LOS on both sides in the second quarter. Georgia also gets the ball first in the second half, Ole Miss desperately needs a stop and then a score to keep it from getting out of hand.
-
Mizzou up 29-7 with 6:21 to go. Unless Tennessee pulls a miracle comeback, Georgia clinches the East before even playing today. ETA: Shrader for Mizzou has put on a SHOW today. 205 rushing and 116 receiving yards. As I edited, pick 6 for Mizzou. UT getting romped.

Bama definitely is improving weekly. The Iron Bowl can be tricky, Auburn COULD beat Bama. That wouldn't matter in the West but would kill Bama's chances for the playoffs.
-
Oh, and this was the first game I've heard John Stroud doing play by play. I never realized how much he sounds like Mr. Garrison from SouthPark.

Ole Miss moves to 2-0. I watched pieces of each of the first 2 games... as expected, this team has a long way to go. We'll see how the team gels as the season goes under Beard in his first year.
-
Louisville came back to win 31-24. Southern Miss tied it back and took the game to OT... picked up the win in OT 34-31. Congrats to USM and Will Hall. Southern Miss/Mississippi State next weekend. I don't think USM has much of a chance, but we'll see.
-
USM/U LA LA WAS tied at 21 until USM fumbled at the 7 yard line giving ULL the short field to take a 28-21 lead. Still almost 6 minutes left, we'll see how USM responds. Top25 upset alert, 2-7 Virginia leads #11 Louisville 24-17 with 6:46 to go.

If UGA and Ole Miss both play up to their potential, Georgia wins. I suspect both teams make a mistake or 3... should be a really great game unless one of the two makes mistakes while the other doesn't. Also... Georgia hosts. Smart money is on Georgia. (I've said all year Georgia loses 1 regular season game... it's pretty much down to Ole Miss this weekend or Tennessee next weekend... neither should overly surprise anyone). Georgia has been flirting with a loss all year, hopefully they'll get that loss this weekend. Battle of the hot seat coaches as mentioned... A&M is just too talented and MSU is just struggling. A&M is favored by 17, smart money is on A&M. UK hangs around with Bama for a while, but Bama pulls away. UT/Mizzou is a hard pick. I should go with Mizzou since they host, but going with UT. I have more faith in Auburn than Arkansas right now, so Auburn. South Carolina over Vandy I guess. I'm picking Penn State because they host, at least that's what I'm telling myself. It's quite possible I'm just rooting for chaos at the top and Muck Fichigan may well be playing a part. I'm rooting for USM but picking U LA LA. (It's 7-7 as I'm typing this so it's still ok to make this pick after kickoff?)

I really don't think it's fair to compare this to Mullen 2013 OR Croom 2008. 2008 was Croom's 5th year, the previous year was 8-5 with a bowl win while 2008 was 4-8. The writing was on the wall and it was time to move on from Croom. Mullen 2013 was also his 5th year, 4th straight bowl appearance with a 7-6 final record. Arnett is in year one and there's talk of being fired. I really don't see a comparison.

It will obviously be mainly Republicans winning these state elections today. The top position is one of the few up for grabs. If Jim Hood didn't win over Reeves, I don't see Presley doing it. I'm leaning Reeves 51%, Presley 48%, Gray 1%. Gray actually dropped out of the race in order to not force a potential runoff but didn't drop out in time to get her name off the ballot. She's sitting at 2% of the votes in the VERY EARLY returns.
-
I'd imagine State would have to (and can) throw a good bit of money to hire a decent coach... I also imagine whoever takes the job will demand a pretty high buyout after seeing Arnett fired after 1 year.
-
What legit candidates are lining up to interview if Arnett is fired after ONE year? I have no idea, but that's the question the AD will be asking to advisors.
-
Bama is shutting down LSU in the second half. I may switch over to Washington/Southern Cal.
-
Chokelahoma lost again, that will move Ole Miss up to #9. Texas went to OT vs Kansas State but won, that would have moved Ole Miss to #8. LSU scored first on Bama, we'll see how this game plays out.
-
Southern Miss finally got back in the W column today, props to them and Will Hall. I'd really like to watch the MSU/Kentucky game, but Bama/LSU will be on TV1 with the MSU game in the background muted.
