  1. Not at all. HOPEFULLY this team read too much about themselves (RAT POISON!) and work much harder this week to be better prepared for next weekend. If OM plays next Saturday like today, Kentucky wins.
  2. OM survives winning 35-27. I'll gladly take a 4-0 start, but overall.. OM looked like dookie in this game. Judkins has looked very good all season for a true freshman. Did OM just sleepwalk through this game and still deserving of a #16 ranking or was OM just exposed? We'll find out in the coming weeks. 0 points scored in the second half for this OM offense. I suspect Lane will be all over this team's butts this week. Defense missed a lot of tackles in the backfield also.
  3. Georgia won 39-22. I'm surprised Kent State scored 22. 3 turnovers for Georgia, I figure that led to some of Kent State's scores.
  4. State beat Bowling Green like a drum, just like they should have. I won't say Auburn won, Missouri lost. That was a brutal game to watch.
  5. I like MSU to win and cover. OM SHOULD win and cover, but Tulsa does have the #1 passing offense. I lean Tulsa has padded stats from playing cupcakes (same with Ole Miss)... it COULD be a more interesting game than most think. UF/UT is the best SEC game this weekend on paper. I have 99 reasons to pick UT at home and 1 reason to pick Florida. For some reason, I'm picking Florida. Mizzou/Auburn- I may be WAY OFF, but I think Auburn covers 7 points with a win easily. Auburn has more talent and Harsin is coaching to keep his job right now. IF Auburn loses, Harsin I'd bet on Harsin being fired Sunday.. if not immediately after the game. A&M favored by 2 hosting Arkansas- I have no idea and wouldn't bet this game.
  6. This weekend, weather should be clear. Next weekend, we'll see. Way too early to tell, but a lot of tropical storms/disturbances in the Atlantic that could dump a lot of rain the next weekend.
  7. Yep. Too many view the 11am slot like the old JP games with the 3 Daves which took the leftover game. ESPN has made a push to put a "big" game at 11am following Gameday. No idea if it's true, but I'm told the 11am ESPN game outnumbers viewership vs the 6pm ESPN game at times. The primetime ESPN is a better slot still, but the gap isn't as large as it once was. Bama-Arkansas is the obvious top pick for CBS- should be a top 10 matchup unless we see an upset this weekend.
  8. Pretty much, yep. I still am not sold State isn't as good as everyone thought or maybe LSU isn't as bad as everyone thought. This could be a very wild wild west this season. Bama is obviously the favorite to win the SECW, but they sure look more beatable that MOST years in the past decade. Who's the second favorite to win the SECW right now? A&M who lost to Appy State? Arkansas who needed a come from behind win to beat Missouri State? Ole Miss who has whipped 3 bad teams playing good defense, good running, but questionable passing game? LSU's only loss is vs FSU who is undefeated. Auburn didn't look good at all vs Penn State, but zero SEC losses so far so we'll see. MSU has one loss to LSU, again... maybe LSU will prove to be the second best SECW team and MSU finishes third? It's way too early to guess how the season pans out.
  9. Washington beat #11 Michigan State.
  10. Eh, after 3 weeks in we'll see. Arkansas needed a 4th quarter rally to survive Missouri State today. A&M lost to Appy State last week. The egg bowl is always a toss up. Bama looked like dookie last week against a Texas team that's struggling with UTSA tonight. MSU winning ~7 games this year wouldn't surprise me a bit.
  11. Maybe LSU finally put things together tonight or maybe MSU is an average team? 9 more games to find that true answer.
  12. Bobby Petrino's Missouri State's team leads Arkansas 17-7 late in the first half. Arkansas will pull it out I'm sure, but dang... I didn't see this one being close.
  13. LSU woke up a bit to make it 13-10 MSU leading. Did Kelly address the team with his "southern accent" to wake them up???
  14. I agree SW, Tech is likely looking for a coach this offseason. Georgia Tech is just struggling, and not very good this year. Still, a 42-0 road win at a P5 program is what good teams SHOULD do against struggling P5 teams. Ole Miss came into the game ranked #20, I'd say #18-20 is about right after this game. The running game and the defense has looked great so far, but we'll see how they both look after a few SEC games.
  15. Florida State @ Louisville tied 14-14 after 1 quarter tonight, this could be a good watch.
  16. The Chargers had a very good first half tonight, the Chiefs are just too much in the second half so far.
  17. Almost everyone outside of Tuscaloosa misses Mike Shula. Ha
  18. Things changed around 2014. Before that, LSU was a given win over MSU and Bama was a given win over Ole Miss. Ole Miss would give LSU fits almost every year while MSU gave Bama fits almost every year up until 2014. We seemed to switch places in 2014.

Agreed, not just for Favre but also for Bryant along with probably Reeves. It somewhat reminds me of the Dickie Scruggs scandal which directly involved Jim Hood... Hood was re-elected as AG many times after that so I lean this will end up being basically nothing.
  20. State's record vs LSU is BAD, it's definitely odd seeing State favored... especially at LSU. From the 2 games we've seen, I think State is the better team. IF this game was in Starkville AND as much as I want to see LSU/Kelly fail... I lean LSU pulls out a very close win in Baton Rouge. Whichever way this game goes, I think it will be a great game to watch. OM at GT is a much closer trip, but similar to the MSU at Arizona game last week. It's a respected P5 matchup on the road, but not against a very good team. It's a game OM SHOULD win. I'll take OM to win but not cover. I see Penn State and Auburn as both 7ish wins teams. Auburn hosts so I'll go with Auburn. A&M got embarrassed last week, I lean they blow out Miami this weekend.
  21. I started to mention Hugh Freeze but thought surely not... Tim Brando has mentioned Hugh Freeze for the opening with saying Freeze is interested. Nebraska has done worse and could do worse now than hiring Freeze.
  22. Geno Smith started 13/13 for Seattle and ended the half 17/18. Who saw that coming?
  23. I say it pretty much every year, these early polls are fun for fans but pretty much guesswork and too much credit is typically given to the "big name" schools. Also some credit is carryover from last season without much thought to who those teams lost as starters. I'd wager 3 or 4 current top 10 teams will not finish top 10. Heck, look at Ole Miss and MSU being numbers 3 and 1 in the first CFP poll. Those rankings were more or less justified at the time, but a LOT of football was left to be played. Neither finished top 10 at the end of the season. The only rankings that really matter is finishing top 4 for the CFP... well, until the expanded playoffs start. Beyond the top 4 to get into the playoffs, the final polls matter for bragging rights/recruiting/exposure. Polls before that really don't mean squat.
  24. It was a fun week 1 in the NFL. The weirdest stat so far: The AFC South is winless after week 1, and two of these teams played each other. PLENTY of football left to play and it won't end this way... the best two teams in week one looked to be Buffalo and Minnesota.
  25. I agree 83, Frost was getting fired this year unless he pulled out 6 wins, maybe needed 7 wins to save his job. As soon as I saw them lose to Georgia Southern, I new he was gone this year... I figured they'd wait until towards the end of the season to save money, but whatever. Nebraska definitely gets a (deserved) bad rap for firing Frank Solich and Bo Pelini too quickly. Mullen would be an interesting hire at Nebraska.
