Wow. Why does he want to do this? Makes no dang sense.

I'm with you there runningman. I just don't see how he would leave Meridian, but I guess we'll find out one way or the other.

You're going to have to get the bulk of your team from the portal. Last thing needed is a bunch of green coaches having to learn on the fly, especially at the coordinator level.

That's a little bit scary to be honest. State needs stability and not this fringe experiment hiring thing.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Oh ok. Bruce took over at Pearl immediately after Doug, so I wasn't sure of the relation there, but still that's one heck of a family coaching tree regardless.

@Vottis that the correct lineage from Doug Merchant?

So Doug, then Bruce, and now Benjie. So would that mean that Doug is Benjie's grandfather? If so, that's one heck of a football coaching lineage right here in Mississippi.

Talk about creating a spot for Greg Knox. They've got him as the Director of Career and Personal Development/D.A.W.G. Don't know what the D.A.W.G. acronym is for, but sometimes you just have to invent a spot.

It's too far North and too cold in the winter time. I'm sure there's plenty to do there, but it's essentially an extension of Memphis.

As far as the Flowers decommitment goes, I think that might have been part of Lebby's plan. He's probably got some other QB's in mind to run his offense.

And then you've got attrition as well with the decommits. I think that may be part of the scheme, but you don't want to lose everyone. It'll be interesting to see how he gets this roster built for year one.

That line of thought makes too much sense. You know where I'm going with that LOL

I think another thing that would help would be knowing the rotation on the state championship sites. It's been inconsistent since it left Jackson in 2013. If they could somehow come up with a permanent rotation and stick with it, I think that would be a big benefit.

That would get ugly 10 seconds into the 1st quarter. I think West Point would probably be looking for tougher competition than that. Heck I think they have a hard enough time as it is trying to find tougher competition.

You should have been there (West Jones) for the South State game. That thing was packed and you couldn't stir anyone there with a stick. Congrats to your Mustangs. They were just a beast defensively this year.

Where do they come up with these bowls at? Heck you've got them at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park now. There's way too many of the things.

West Point will keep winning because they are West Point and they are in 5A North. You make that easy to say LOL!

What is the Pop Tarts Bowl? Did it used to have a more normal non-sponsorship name?

Smith-Wills has a tenant. Belhaven plays their home baseball games there.

I reckon there's some relation to Doug Merchant there as well. And didn't Doug coach at Pearl and Hattiesburg? There could be some legit smoke to that.

Care to narrow it down to a certain classification?

No we're not, but what's an alternative to The Rock that currently exists in the central part of the state, excluding the stadium on North State Street? You obviously won't have the same capacity, but which venue or venues can meet those needs?

I honestly have no issue with this. I think it's very possible to bring in bleachers and convert Trustmark Park into a football field. I also think MC is a great venue as well. The only thing they need to do there is extend their visitors side and make it a little bigger. They can't go back with it since the baseball field is right there, but they can extend what they have (along the sidelines) to add capacity to the visitors side.

That’s definitely a little (or a lot) ridiculous, but I reckon he’s never been to Anthony’s before. They’ve got some life changing food there. Maybe EBF needs to get out more and experience life. It’ll be West Point’s to lose, just like it was this year.
