I hope they do win, but if they don’t the season won’t last very long. When Pascagoula loads the box, Picayune needs to find a way around it and not get caught up in it.

As far as the district championship goes. A win or a loss won't determine that.

I hate to sound pessimistic here, but if Picayune loses to Pascagoula tomorrow it will feel like the straw that breaks the camel's back so to speak. Things just don't feel right at all.

Neither did Laurel, but they could very well end the regular season right at .500 overall or a game under and still be the 1 seed. That's what makes having 7 classifications a complete joke.

I think so too. Just the weapons they have on offense with a team that was pieced together and Tootie not even really expecting to play and he goes in there and throws 4 TD passes was just incredible. Having Sinegal and Watson there making catches just helps a whole lot. Then you got Agee at tailback. The pieces are definitely there and when they get healthier, look out.

Is West Point kind of like 2023 Laurel this year? 2023 Laurel went 1-5 before district play and ended up 8-7 after losing in the finals to West Point. Laurel set a team record of points allowed that season.

I know Merlin ain't gonna want me shedding some light on those West Jones Mustangs, but I got to. They had the thing pieced together with bailing wire and duct tape and should have beaten Petal. That was an incredible performance for them and yes that team that played Friday would have beaten Laurel into submission. They definitely pass the eye test as far as 6A South goes. I just hope they can keep it up.

They probably could if they were in Bay's region and classification. Bay is currently on an 18 game skid and their last win was October 11th, 2024 against Moss Point.

If Picayune can find some offense and if Hancock can find some defense, then it could get real interesting. There certainly isn't a clear cut favorite.

But to answer your question directly. The winner of this game won't determine jack. You can also throw in the word that goes after jack as well for color purposes while also keeping it G rated on the board.
